monogrammed

his
he says with cynical sigh
all she ever did was cry
he says she only vaunted
things she wanted flaunted

hers
she says he never did
all the promises he said
she swears he'll never
speak the truth whatsoever

his
he just wishes she had
not made him feel so bad
says he's better without her
realised he'd always doubt her

hers
wants to know whatever she saw
made her think he hadn't a flaw
knows her heart is better without
a foolish man hanging about

his
he says there'll come a day
she'll feel herself in disarray
he's sure she'll take him back
showing love he doesn't lack

hers
she wants him to see the real her
agree with her view to defer
and wait for some other day
true love finally to display

both
to be each others monogram
accept me for the way i am
