THE ROAD OF THORNS

THE ROAD OF THORNS

She held her breath, as heartache danced again,
in a legless heart, she wished that now was dead,
this barbed wire ring, that tears her heart within,
hidden yet, no guard to keep it in.

Yet hate she should ''the bastard'' for what he did,
but the heart is deaf to reason, in loving things,
and love, not always easy to define,
as pain, can tear her still, not least sublime,

And the thought of him with HER, the heart recoils,
of wasted 20 years, of love and toil,
for HER, to reap his hands upon her flesh,
and she worn out, by loving, now forsake.

But let him go she must, or live in dread,
of pain so rough, 'twould shatter heart, and head,
with new resolve she lay upon the bed,
but muffled pillow screams, come out instead.

equine gifts

looking at the horse
pull down the lips
and check the teeth
good teeth are a gift
pull up on a leg
check out how long
been on the hoof
mouth's ok, checkin' south
ol' belly's a bit saggin'
a while been baggin' but
haunches rounded and strong
soft eyes are still clear
and you see a little fire
and think about the fourth
turn on that muddy track
everyone standing cheering
you're galloping neck-n-neck
unglued and runnin' like wind
dreamin' of a photo finish

Illusion of love

Oh the sight sound and taste of love
It touches us like a dove

There is a reason the dove has wings
It flies into our hands and touches us for a moment
and offers its song to sing

It then flies away as free as it came often leaving much pain
It can overcome us like a thunderous storm
and fill us with things fuzzy and warm

Yet, it also has its illusions which leads us to confusion
Its scars can last a lifetime
Or paint a picture with rose color shades with brushes of empty affections and its imperfections.

See how we chase after a dream of love and hope
Yet, sometimes one can rush too much too fast and feel like a dope

They say anything worthwhile is worth the wait. Yet how long must some wait to seal their fate?

How many can often be so blind they dont see the signs.
Fools tend to push away what may be in front of them for a different flavor they think will do them a favor

There comes that moment in it's time of torment
the fool looks deeper into the pool
And what does he see but his own false perception of self
as he laments upon a stool
Taking sips of consolation in his isolation

Each and every day it seems to be getting harder to fulfill one's desires.
Yet, the question the fool must ask to his task is his intentions true and noble?

If our task is to find the barriers and excuses we create against what we seek are we sometimes afraid to take a peek?

Has some become so bitter and cold and just got so set in their ways feeling cranky and old?

Whatever happened to joys of childhood when there was a time when all that mattered was baseball and icecream

Now all the fool hears are sounds of moaning and groaning of his own doing
along with silent screams and his broken dreams

Today the fool just sits in his rocking chair safe upon the porch watching life pass him by like a summer breeze
as he takes his last wheeze

The illusions of love they play clever tricks as the magician dazzles the audience with beauty and hope
For some let us be mindful of truth and illusion of love before we lose sight of the dove.

The forever love

How often has the winters wind whispered
a dream upon your rosy cheeks and frosty
breath..
In the wee hours of twlights velvet sky have
I not warmed your heart with the promise
of celestial glory?
Perhaps you saw my form in the changing
clouds of crimson dawn
Perhaps the sun closed his eyes but for a
moment that you may behold my sorrow
in the shadows of eternal night..
Perhaps, my love, you choose to look the
other way..
Is not your heart fashioned as a God?
Did you not shutter when I opened my
hand and the evil one plucked the dove
of peace from my heart?
And now, you must decay with the elements
of time..yet I will gather your spirit and bring
you home to a place you would not believe
though someone told you..
Go your way my love, for this message is
sealed until the last day..the day of..
Eternal love.

"The Experience"

As the drums fall in line, thrashing rolling thunderous beats, as the trumpeter's are called to the grand event, the orchestra begins to layout their sheet music. A Configuration By Intention. HIS intermix of musical notation now complete. Each ear hears as the introduction is played, their hearts filled with much exultation in the sweet sounds. The commemoration follows wherever they yearn to travel. The intensity, only with them, as that last note persists..... HIS first symphony now arranged, new music fills the air called life music.

A Bit of Story and A Glimpse of Shine

A bit of heart for them who lost it
A bit of earth for them who lost their steps
A bit of warmth for them who frozen
A bit of love for those who hate

A glimpse of light for those who are blinded
A glimpse of hope for those who are in need
A glimpse of fresh air for those who suffered
A glimpse of touch for those who are afraid

A bit of pain for me who forgot myself
A bit of smile for me who is faceless

I Can See For Miles

Accross the expanse of time she
calls to me..'When my love'
How long before the lonely nights
find us in loves embrace?
Mere words shall not dry my tears
til flesh and bone meet flesh and
bone
'Til then I search the skys-

I HAVE HAD IT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

We've reached the point where you sicken me
I cannot stand to look at you anymore
You have hurt me one to many times
You've changed you are not like before
I have given you chance after chance
You continue in your set path
Of causing me continuous pain
So now you will feel my wrath
Once we were as one I loved you
Always you were first choice with me
In return you slowly started to inflict your pain
Growing more each day we see
So it is time I have made my choice
I will show you to the door
I will honestly miss you
But you will not hurt me no more
Good bye you will be hard to replace
