Holding on…

I’m still here…holding on.
Waiting for the change to come.
Praying for deliverance.
Wanting to be moving along. Soon?

Just lingering here;
Yearning for my steps to leave this past behind me.
Praying for the future that I can see
Only in my dreams.
Hoping that it’ll soon be a reality.

Can’t give up.
Don’t want to stop…believing.
Success could be closer than I imagine;
Life is sometimes quite surprising.
So I’ll just keep…holding on.

full moon crescent city

CONTEMPORARY MEMORY START THE RYTHEM
BEGIN A FRIEND
FIEND DEFINED BY WINGS SEPERATED
VENTELATED AND HIGH
ANCIENT CURSES THROUGH THE SAND PRESSED SQUARE
STARE INTO THE FULL MOON CRESCENT CITY
ONE TIME DEFINED AMONGST ANGELS THROWN
UP AND DOWN THRICE DAILY AND NUMBERS SOUND
ON THAT JAZZY BLUE JUKEBOX
SLY FOX
COLD AIR IN THE FULL MOON CRESCENT CITY
STRAIGHT LINES FINE LINES AND FLOURESCENT HAIR
ANGEL WHERE ARE YOU
SOUTH LINES END IN THE FULL MOON CRESCENT CITY

Toys of the Mind

Toys of the mind
we create for
ourselves

With pink ribbons
and glitter and
kept on a shelf

On any given day
we'll unwrap
one or two

Pop open a
box-any one
will do

Today it's the
black box and
out jumps the
hate

With green eyes
and envy
That's ruling
our fate

It's a rainy
day, O well,
Just plug it
in the wall

Watch it spin
and twirl as
it sets up
our fall

To late to
put it back
It won't fit
in the box

Growing bigger
in the mind
With it's own
chain and lock

Hurry to those
rainy day toys
We invent for
ourselves

Created in the
factory by our
our mental
elves-

The honor is mine

The thought of meeting you
Keeps me up at night

All those poems you wrote
Sunk deep in my soul

I've stirred a course through
Loves sea

And you've been the wind in
My sails

So sad that my hands cannot
Cup your cheek

I send you my tears in a golden
Bottle

I tear my flesh for love unfulfilled

May destiny have compassion on
the desires of my hungry heart

May my eyes close on this dark
And lonely world

May I wake to find you hand and
Hand walking through streets of
Gold

Only then shall we walk in the
Eternal smile

Consciousness, the divine wine

Because you know..
We have declared you
gods..
Because great pain has
been born of understanding
you must die the death of
knowledge
But you shall be healed
of life by He who has power
over the sting of death
Only by faith can you ever see
the tree of life
My angel carries the sword not
in vain..
He will protect you in your hour
of trial
Or cut you to pieces if you fail
the test..
Consciousness is born of mercy
It is a gift and the lowly beast
of the field knows not of your
great status-

to remake anew

she was crying
in the sea
unloved and worn
she spoke to me

her heart and boards
were long ripped out
her diesel engine
left in doubt

yet I heard her
heard her true
in her estuary
of blue

I spent a fortune
on her hull
I slept beneath
the dawning gull

weeping wounds
carved by years
open sores
wept salted tears

a friend helped me
with her coat
a rising tide
lifts every boat

and I rescued her
that year
out of wet rot
out of fear

yet twas she
who rescued me
with my work
upon the quay

less days
to think of you
my retro thinking
hours few

the odd bewildered
passerby
would enquire of me
"Why?"

this dishevelled
bearded man
eating something
from a can

I thank the thousands
that walked past
who saw her place in life
as last

they failed to stop
and read the signs
they saw no beauty
in her lines

You Think You're The Best?

so you think you are the best
something rather special
you flick back your hair
as you give me the eye

flex a muscle or two
drawing attention
to your fine physic
wash board stomach

a handsome face
heart melting smile
you have it all
or so you think

let me tell you pal
beauty is as beauty does
you leave me cold
with your dark heart

all you want
is to be in control
a flying fist
you feel in command

yes I know you
a little too well
I turn I am no worm
coward that you are

you walk out the door
saying manage on your own
well I'll tell you what pal
good riddance out you go

get out and stay out
don't darken my door
I don't need you now
for I have moved on

the pub on poet's corner

I was mending a hull
'neath the crying gull
when the call
came down the line
my dad had gone
his time had come
and a world of hurt
was mine

left my girl
to anger swirl
told her "needed space"
but I was dust
not even lust
could the hurtin'
I replace

time dragged on
when I was gone
my love
I failed to warn her
about the rendezvous
I shared with you
in a pub
on poet's corner

"I'm the ghost
of every girl you've loved"
your spectre
said to me
I'll haunt your mind
till you go blind
and then
I'll let you be

"and the bird
that nested
in the eve
fed its young
in Byron's sleeve
in the pub
on poet's corner"

so every night
my daily fight
is a scramble
to emerge
strong and well
from the bowels of hell
where dark
and madness merge

where music
from the walls
is bled
by DJ Jazzy
and a girl called Red

"and the bird
that nested in the eve
told me that
I'd never leave
the pub
on poet's corner"

Tales from the Ocean of Humanity

I've spent my life upon the ocean
Through storms and troughs
And tsunamis of dread

And sometimes I have sighted Islands
Upon this trackless ocean of life
But have been unable to reach them
So rough has been the tide

I came upon an archipelago
Many islands beneath the sun
Of various size and appearance

As I tried to land on some
I found them unwelcoming
Some were frozen and aloof
Some gave me a hostile reception
And made me go away
Others already had two inhabitants
And three would be a crowd

Still others did I come upon
Where the islands had been damaged
Perhaps by war or bad season
yet others are only seen at night
Their inhabitants afraid of the glare of day
Sounding out their siren's calls
To lure the unwary
And to rob them of their goods

My quest goes on amid the islands
Till I find one where I can live
And at last my journey will be over
My anchor dropped in a friendly harbour

Till then my voyage continues
Upon the sea of loneliness...

Missed Kisses

There will come a time when salt becomes sweeter than honey...
When cold frozen nights suddenly become sunny...
When honey that drips from your warm softened lips...
Becomes liquid bliss that I so wish to kiss...

I suppose you would wish that I wrongfully miss...
Miss the sweet bliss that I miss from your kiss...
The bittersweet drops hidden in your sweet kisses...
The kisses that this kid oh so certainly misses....
