Hail Independence Day

Bloodshed and revolution all around,
Our brothers and sisters lay on the battle ground.
Consolation that we have won,
Snatched back the "FREEDOM" that was once gone.
1947,14th night, free from shackles of slavery,
We uprooted the British crown with our bravery.
The dawn of 15th was high with expectations,
An occasion of joy and mixed emotions.

The "Golden Eagle" will again spread its wings,
Flying high ,defying challenges unforeseen.

So many decades have passed by,
The Eagle is still unable to fly.
Bound by shackles of corruption and lawlessness,
The freedom has become worse than that of British days.
Just singing our anthem and saluting the Flag,
Is this the freedom so costly had?
A holiday is what we look for this day,
Our patriotic fervor has long swept away.

Selfish interests and personal goals,
Selling our integrity has become our role.
Economic encroachment all around,
India's purse strings lay on foreign ground.

Still there seems no lurking fear,
Of losing our independence which was so dear.

Rise my fellow citizens on this day,
To salute our martyrs and remember what they say.
Protest against rapid liberalization that might one day,
Convert the independence to a dependence day.

Many will disagree to what I say,
But I hope they will contribute on their way,
To enable the deprived celebrate a happier independence day.
All of us would love our motherland,
Have a strong foothold even in the sand,
Watching others being swept away,
Standing like a rock that has come to stay .

Suggestions are not what is the need,
Actions and hard work must superseded.
So lets take an oath in this very day,
To strive hard towards country's betterment keeping vested interests at bay,
This is my sincere thought for our Independence day.

{This City Is In Siege}

[ This City Is In Siege ]

This city is in siege
The city in the range
is as dangerous a place
as a badge on his shirt
the Sheriff is doing his duty
to wipe out bad guys from ghost town.

Mid-night calm is
as sinister as a dawn
all looking quiet
except the barks of sick dogs.

High noon on the near-by river
looks suicidal in a summer
for youngsters wanting to swim
invited by the still water river grim.

A spring evening
looks full of promise
honey-bees collect pollens
buzzing to fertilize in stems.

In the bar after office-hours
the suspense is scary
No soul in sight
only a bartender for a cigarette
to light up for a brave soul.

The dusty road
is nostalgic for me
where me and my beloved
were there with passionate love.

Dons in this fearsome city
are happy-go-lucky
as a child of innocence
giving an endearing smile.

Alas! The Sheriff looks helpless!

About this poem:
This poem was inspired by seeing Hollywood films made in that past era, where a gun, a sheriff and an outlaw ruled the town.

KINDNESS

IT IS KINDNESS
NOT WEAKNESS,
TO LOVE;
EVEN MORE THAN,
MAY SEEM NECESSARY.

Honest Presidental Speech

My fellow Americans
I am going to distract you from some really important issues
That desperately need our attention
Things like a 15 dollar minimum wage
Health care for all of our citizens
Repairing our crumbling infrastructure
Bullying in our schools that leads to shootings
Elder abuse, homelessness
The list goes on and on
So instead
I'm going to talk about building a wall
A nice steel wall
To keep out people coming in our southern border
As far as our northern border
Canada has a good system for keeping them in
It's called free health care
Thank you and good night

Sunny(1/6)

Sunny was the disposition.
Warmth and glow fill hearts’ conditioned,
To welcome change from harshest pangs,
Chilled wispy embers of charred remains.
Were we so smitten all’s forgiven?
No one twice shy they’re never bitten.
As Summer greens turn greys of Autumn,
The swift forgotten race to bottom.
See now a drunken wayward mass,
Emboldened by a traitor masked.
Imaginings of crimes unjust,
Have birthed the biggest lie that was,
And dulled the senses quickened breath,
Emotional the sick and deaf.
Determined folk must prove the right,
When hangs in balance truth and light.
What losing men may claim to have,
Let rays from sun make plain the path.

build it better

but the more we tried, the more we get hit
could it be, not hard enough
building this country and what's for
well, to be slapped harder, to find places
to go incognito
detriment is at his best when you can't
do it better...basta! canallas!

I Believe In Freedom

When I’m laying next to you
It's hard to catch my breath
When we both lay it all out
Like this next to each other

Raising our dreams above us
Believing in the clouds of luck
Our good fortune linked together
And the rest you know already

Be it laid down on its knees
I would rather doubt complete
Why do people take the oath
When they refuse to compete

It all begins with you my dear
You are so special in my heart
Because I believe in freedom
I’ll respect you from the start

Immigration

I need your help
Not your preference
Your sense of duty
I have to trust
Your intensions
I share responsibility
To strive my success
With the success of others
People need each other
We need to get along
Barriers are only constructed
When walls are built
On both sides of the border
We should shoulder this embrace
A good fence makes
A good neighbor
And let trust be our best friend
Crossing over or crossing between
It leads the world away from anger
So does that make it better
For no other sake
Than this season before us
Does it also repeat back and forth
Does it really define us
Make us somehow aware
Of what’s been lacking for a long time

Lieing for Love!

Lieing for Love

Very Poor liar!

Liar Con Artist
Dumb Man he's ignorant
Against the law to defame the military uniform and impersonate military personnel
Not taken lightly for active duty
Or Veteran
One of them
Will put him
In his place!
Smack him down
Several knotches verbally!
There was a man who wrote me on connecting singles in his dress white Navy uniform all white with 4 star general lapels
On each shoulder
His uniform says he is
a 4 star General
slouch says Not
Not the poise body language of an officer
with pride poise grace he says he's a Sergeant in the Army he doesn't have stripes!
Deceit
if he had ever been in
Any Branch of the military
he would know the colors
of the U S Military uniforms and the rank for a
non commissioned officer and an officer from the academy
Con Artist
only word for it
I think there is a penalty for it!
Prior military
Can see a liar a mile away!
