this is un-important compared TO GROWING DAISIES

DID WILL, BILL AND GIL GET THEIR PILL?

I have this great idea to invent a pill
Make it so men can get pregnant as well
Dudes walking around in camouflage
Get a huge belly and know pregnancy is an un-earthly hell

This pill will be mandated and mandatory to ingest
Let’s let men do what women have been doing since Eve
Let the future climb out of Walter’s womb
With little baskets to make and baby blankets to weave

So mommy is in one hospital room and daddy’s in another
And our peaceful home will be noisy for quite a while
One kid from her and the other one from him
And the dad wonders how his wife can summon a smile

Don’t all of you get it, there’s been a problem for years
And we should have monitored each and every birth
Because all we’ve accomplished is a problem made worse
And doesn’t everyone understand we are over-populating the earth?

I DO NOT SEE THIS UNDER "VIEW MY POEMS"

A VIEW FROM BEYOND THE BLUE

I hate to see the world this way
Everything seems like an aimless gray
Over there used to be a cow Pasteur all blazingly green
Now it’s just another iron and concrete scene

Building icons construct latter day dinosaurs against our iconoclastic wishes
So I think for two months a winged angel should do the dishes
Because even angels have duties to perform
And some of them even do it far above norm

But my angel and I look down and cry for a society’s pretense
Weeping for the fools without angels nor sense
Sometimes she says if I want to go down it’s okay
But it’s easy to see in angelic eyes that she prays i stay

There is no way in the world I would return to your world gone awry
I’ll just stay in the breath of white clouds and fantasy’s fog until I die
Because ain’t no reason for me to return except Raggae and rum
And get the valet to pull around our car, but not Jake, he’s too dumb

And you all can do me a favor and entertain me while I look down
I want to see every fool, every bigot and everyone I deem a morose clown
So I’ll just remain up here with my angelic life that keeps me calm
While my angel and I have a wager on when someone will release a nuclear bomb

AL DI LA MY LOVE

AL DE LA MY LOVE

You and I had everything calculated and planned
We were just following fate and its every command
Two souls were going to find forever in an unexpected land
And neither of us would dare to defy destiny’s demand

We were supposed to last a lifetime together no matter what
That was this man and his lady’s predetermined plot
No one could rattle our teacups or shake up the place
Not as long as two lovers had the other’s embrace

I recall adding and subtracting and then reaching a perfect sum
We were sitting on a settee having biscuits and sharing one glass of rum
We shared everything including time, smiles and each other’s past
But simply because a person says “forever” doesn’t mean it will last

Because you hit a rocky road or a curve at too great a speed
You died and I didn’t believe death could be so easily decreed
We were acting in haste while all the time we thought, devised and planned and sadly together we will never find that forever’s clandestine land

breakfast AIN'T eggs BENEDICT THAT'S FOR SURE

BREAKFAST AIN’T EGGS BENEDICT FOR SURE

You can arise whenever you choose to
And that’s why I’m so jealous of you
You can eat whatever you pick out
As for my breakfast there ain’t any doubt

I know precisely what will be on my metal tray
Except sometimes it’s milk or water to start off my day
Your pantry is full of food I don’t even recall
As I use an old filthy tee shirt to keep me warm such as a shawl

Your lunchtime might be at that little tavern we know
But now my lunchtime is delivered row by row
That tavern was cozy and meant a lot to me
And so did my being free

But powder and pain brought me here
And here I’ll stay year after year
I receive opened and censored letters in my mail
The missives people send me here in jail

read it and see the title it doesn't fit

YOU KNOW WHEN A LAWYER IS FYING AND IT’S WHENEVER HIS HIPS ARE GROOVING

Did you slip and fall and it’s the merchant’s fault??
Well we’re going to get you enough money to fill a vault
Did you have a relative who slipped and fell
Fear not, they’ll be represented by men going to hell

He tries in every way to get you to believe but more importantly to stay
Because he sees his bank account in everything you say
While you’re describing to a man about an injury you sustained
He sees his safety deposit box and cares not if you’re pained

Okay, so let’s say you didn’t fall but you remember something fell
Don’t you recall it came right down from the sky says the man headed for hell
Surely you recall it was noontime on the seventeenth and you were injured
And I’ll get you a bankroll no matter who says there was no pain you endured

Have you or a loved one worked in the mines
Or in a school as old as the liberty bell
Then you may have been exposed to asbestos or at least read between the lines
So the fools say“Yeah, okay, I’ll be in on the deal and we’ll both go to hell”

A M A T T E R O F G R A V I T Y

A MATTER OF GRAVITY

where art thou when I need thee most
ah yes, thou has become a ghost
a wishing well empty, a pond depleted
as I stand as stagnant, a man defeated

i have been overcome by demons inside
and when they request "why hast he died"
say unto them he was a man with thirst un-quenched
and tell them i died with my teeth well clenched

"clenched" question they, "but why" they wonder
"because," responds you "of the certain thunder"
"hear not thee the sound that killed him well?"
"Oh yes, now we hear why he was condemned unto Hell"

"so" sayeth thee, tell them without any doubt
there will be, due to his death, become a drought
a dryness no man nor god can create
"because," inform them, "my man was slain solely by hate"

" 'twas hatred which condemned him unto the fire,
and to all I swear, my man was no liar
he told the truth before the Temple of Love
until a thousand demonic angels appeared from above"

so let them hear the words of a man sworn unto death
and vow to them all that with each blessed breath
easiness, that evening, arrived my sweet
because 'twas with eagerness my death did I meet

thusly do I swear when you gaze around
and find not by body, to which Hell was bound
remember my face and this most memorable date
for that 'twas the eve your man died of SELF-hate

just ABE solomon AND you

ABRAHAM, SOLOMON AND YOU

If there were an entrance fee to get into Heaven how much would you pay?
And let me tell you brother, it won’t help you now to pray
So you get to Heaven with 56,000 bucks and St. Peter looks at you in scorn
Sorry sir, but The minimum cover charge is the life of your first born

If there were something difficult to do to become Heaven bound?
And you must decide soon before you’re fodder for the ground
Would you sneak up on an old lady and strike her about the head?
Now keep in mind, this is the deal when destiny deems you dead

If the only way you could get into Heaven meant your pretty daughter’s death
Would you cast away your daughter’s life and give a stranger her breath?
What if the cost of Heaven turned out to be the life of your younger brother,
And after your brother bleeds out you must then slay thy mother?

God tempted Abraham on a mount with his son’s death in his hand
And Solomon, when he said he’d split the babe in half, no one could understand
So my brother, to Hell is where you are bound lest thee come up with an answer
“Yo Saint Pete, how about we get rid of the boss and give God colon cancer”

MEET THE STREET

A dude must know the street before he or she wants to live on one
I don’t mean a house or an apartment on a street… I mean live on the street
You’d better know how to fight, how to surrender and when to run
And one should also practice being orderly and oh so discreet

There’s Old Man Joe and his friend Fred who seem okay
But if you own anything at all don’t turn your back on the pair
Because this ain’t just talk since I live here from day to day
And don’t come running to the other street dwellers if you need someone to care

Ain’t no one on the street that gives a damn about you and what you need
Be it food, drink, comfort or just someone to bandage you when you’re hurt
Sh*t, dudes on the street wouldn’t ebb the flow of your blood no matter how you plead and bleed
And then there are the rich who pass by and won’t give up a buck as they treat you like dirt

So I’m giving you ample warning and the rest is all up to you
You can keep doing your thing and lay in that warm comfy bed
Because I swear on everything holy that the following statement is true
If you need to live on the streets you’d better have eyes in front and in back of your head

SHARDS OF SHAME

Yesterday is now my shadow cast~~
A darkened image for a darkened past~~
The things I’ve done out of desperation~~
I brave only now to reveal such information~~

For speak I not at this time and place~~
lest yesterday’s shadow will bare my face~~
The atrocities I’ve committed or played a part
The memories live on in that shadow’s heart

Shadows can shame one into submission
And thusly do I declare this adamant admission
I’ve held metal and steel well aimed to frighten
And my darkness is someplace nothing can brighten

No sun to stop the thought of a gun
Grab the old ladies pocket book and run
wait in the lobby of a fine hotel somewhere
Step into an elevator with a lady I’d dare

She presses fourteen and I pressed fifteen
And making a lady pee her pants is miles more than mean
I used to make excuses but now I’ve stopped at last
And each admittance resides in yesterday’s shadow cast
