Thanks but that doesn't work either. I have never seen this problem before. It is not possible to qoute anyone but the OP. When I click on either Reply or Quote I cannot post unless I scroll back to the OP's original post. I will not bother posting on this idiotic thread again.

"We are in the process of creating what deserves to be called the idiot culture. Not an idiot sub-culture, which every society has bubbling beneath the surface and which can provide harmless fun; but the culture itself. For the first time, the weird and the stupid and the coarse are becoming our cultural norm, even our cultural ideal."
There are a number of things going on with this topic you mention. It has taken me a lifetime to get to the point where I am even willing to try and understand the idiot, let alone know procedures to do any edifying skill training. Be that as it may, here are some thoughts on the subject:
When an idiot hears you point something obvious out to him, all he hears is that you are pointing out something he should have known in the first place. This immediately sends him into defense mode, which makes it impossible for him to gain anything useful from your observation, no matter how diplomatic you presented it. He will always see it as you being unkind or discourteous, because he knows he is stupid to have not seen the light in the first place. But people have a severely tough time accepting blame, and the need to deflect that is greater than the good sense it would take to acknowledge the mistake, false notion, whatever, so they don't. A good example is the caring co-worker who tries to show an employee what to do (or not) to avoid getting into a negative situation with the manager. Said employee would rather get written up and/or fired than take good advice. I have never understood this, but it is as common as green grass.
Howdy Jeeps-- doing fine. I'm a lttle depressed--one of my faves "The Dobe" kinda chewed me up and spit me out on another thread. I really like her so it sorta hurt, but hey, she had to let me know what she was thinking about this n that. I'm a wuss, I guess, well, this club is for all our feelings, not just some. How are you? Hope you are doing well.
