Having the older brother, I got his hand-me-downs & my sister got to have mine. So I was dressed in boys clothes & she got my nice new clothes. That STANK!!
Sweetie, I was a teen in the 80's, my older sisters were in high school in the early 70's. Imagine the hand me downs I had to tolerate. To this day I get ill looking at paisley.
Cow neck sweaters, those bell bottoms that look more like a maxi skirt. Needless to say, I got a job at age 13 and started buying my own clothes. I would have been thrilled to get my brother's hand me downs.

kitty01: Hello, not like I asked for it my Dad just did it. I wanted a record player so he bought me a whole stereo. He did not want me using his tape recorder so he bought me my own.
I hated it was that when I was a teenager he would not let me have a job, he said what I do not give you enough money, so just gave me more. I would have loved to have worked liked my friends were.
It was a shock when I finally finished school and had to work, had no idea what the work force was really like, expected it to be like when I was in school.
I was never allowed to do housework so when I went on my own I did not know even how to wash clothes.
WOW Kitty..
I do know how to do housework..
I just pretend I don't..
But yep.. my upbringing was vereeee different to yours. All my clothes and toys were someone else's.. The bike I had for my Birthday had belonged to a boy down the road.. and had mis matched tyres haha.. We had no tv.. and bathed in a tin bath by the fire.. haha
But my dads a millionaire now.. and I have a jacuzzi.. and five tvs.

Dang! A jacuzzi? Let's get wrinkled. By the way, I like you pix, especially the unsensible one. Would that be with tongue or no tongue?
Being an only child would be great. I have no biological brothers or sisters, but was raised with my cousins who were like my brothers and sisters. I'm the youngest of 38.
You can take part in every poll without posting comments. Remember every poll at this site is anonymous! - I think so :)
I have one older sister (but she is rather like younger one :) ) I think that man who is only child is more selfish than man who has siblings. Only child needn't share everything with brother or sister. Parents also concentrate only on their one child.
What do you think?
I have two sisters, both younger. I agree that only children tend to not learn how to share. My late husband was an only child and he didn't share things well, even with me...esp his computer. It was hard for me to have time online during our marriage. It was my only complaint, though.

My ex-boyfriend was also an only child and also had problem sharing anything, especially the computer. But he expected me to share everything of mine.
I suppose I have already voted, at least that is what my PC said. But I really thought about the poll and decided you're missing selections. Specifically :half siblings! I have two of those. One I have never met and one that I am helping to raise. But I essencially grew up as an only child until I turned 11-12. Even then, I was not in the same house as my brother, so still have a single child mentality.
Plus I am old enough that I really don't treat him as a sibling sometimes.
3 sisters,4 brothers Some have moved and stayed away and some have come back and left again. 3 out of 8 are in our hometown and we get along alot better now as adults then we did as children.

That's a good point. My father has 3 other children besides me whom I've never met. Heck, I only ever met my father once when I was 2. I know the girl and one of the boys are half-Korean. I don't know even know their ages to know whether they're older or younger (not sure where I fit in - I was never claimed, so there could be a dozen more half-sibs I don't know about).
But to me, they don't really exist. I never had a paternal side to my family, only my mom's. So her side is all I claim.
I am one of many. I have one real brother, 2 half sisters and 2 step-brothers and 1 step sister. I love them all. Sometimes. Glad to see some people feel the way i do. motherofthree.
