1.Internet is a virtual reality and therefore people do expect you to lie ( same as advertises on TV)...

CS is a separate reality. It's an amusement park for me. I don't know jack but I will speak my opinion and be adult enough in the forums to know that no one else needs me to speak for or defend them... otherwise said I do not believe in the pac mentality I see practiced by others, every day and every night whenever I log into CS.

it's changed over time. i'm probably more private than i used to be.
i post what i think, but it's filtered as it's a public forum. my opinion remains the same, but probably more articulated in private. sometimes i'm interested in a topic, or i may have an opinion, but i don't participate due the vitriolic nature of a thread, and use it as an opportunity to practice acceptance.
ive learned a lot from some of the posters in the threads, so i keep coming back. sometimes it's good practice that i don't 'have to be right'.
i also like to banter with friends in the forums..socializing.
and when opportunity knocks...i love the one liners. it's the laughter that is the strongest glue for me.
i like replying, but too nervous/shy to start a thread..
i think one can get an idea of a person, over a period of time, from the threads. but it's virtual...so who really knows... i can say that the few folks i have met in real life from cs, have been very true to who they present here, but meeting in real life created deeper connections.
