I dont get it. Is he coming to save the saved ones? But they are already saved and dont need to be re-saved. Better is, he saves those who arent safe already and leaves the saved ones behind because they are safe
xxDandelionxx: Do you mean 'poll'? C'mon.... it wasn't difficult, surely?
oh, I didn't even see that spelling mistake untill now. After making a cracker mistake myself this week not something I would joke about. No I wont tell what it was.
JeanKimberley: no this is not about the truth - this is just about you and your beliefs. all the best to you.
How do you know? It sounds a whole lot more believable then saying we all evolved from apes that 100,000,000 years ago rose out of a cosmic soup along with other creatures that could think and act of their free will and just happened to be male and female and could pro-create.
Windydays: This pole is about Jesus return and what the condition the earth will be in. Many people don't know the truth.
I am sorry but your thread is a bit useless, The answer for your question is explained in details in The Book of Revelation especially in the part Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
Book itself is an interesting piece and I recommend to read, not because of apocalyptic point of view which was set up in apostolic era, the value of the book is in its epistolary point of view, especially spiritual path of allegory, fight between Good and Evil.
I liked especially angels mediator role in the process of Revelation and I was a bit surprised with their power ...
Interesting but difficult book for wintery evenings
oh me oh my, again... religious "faith" touted as truth...
"truth: noun 1. he doubted the truth of her statement: veracity, truthfulness, verity, sincerity, candor, honesty; accuracy, correctness, validity, factuality, authenticity. ANTONYMS dishonesty, falseness. 2. it's the truth, I swear: what actually happened, the case, so; the gospel (truth), the honest truth. ANTONYMS lies. 3. truth is stranger than fiction: fact(s), reality, real life, actuality. ANTONYMS fiction. 4. scientific truths: fact, verity, certainty, certitude; law, principle. ANTONYMS lie, falsehood. PHRASES in truth in truth, their marriage was rocky from the start: in fact, in actual fact, as it happens, in point of fact, in reality, really, actually, to tell the truth, if truth be told."
Waiting for Jesus is like waiting for aliens to reveal themselves to all humanity. The book of lies written by men is a nice lot of stories, myths, and beliefs. Beliefs not based on scientific fact, but on faith.
(snip)On December 21, 2012, an alien spaceship [not the first that never came] in France will take off and save those nearby from the apocalypse.
The alien spaceship is located in a French commune with a population of just 200. Locals are touting it as a modern-day Noah’s Ark because when doomsday arrives – December 21, 2012 – those nearby will be saved.
According to extraterrestrial experts at the United Nations, the alien spaceship is from Planet Zeeba.
A large stream of Zeeban believers – or esoterics, as locals call them – have descended in their camper van-loads to the usually picturesque and tranquil Pyrenean village of Bugarach.(snip) source:
The apocalypse did not come, and the date of arrival has been moved to Dec 2013.
The only real truth is that there never has been the fulfillment of the coming of Jesus, or the wrath of God, or the impending doom or shall we call it - the end days.
So live life like it's your last day. Because one thing is for sure - you are more likely to be hit by a bus than to see Jesus come.
Come on - UN experts on aliens talking about Zeeba ... That's like the Catholic Church myth of three days with no sun. Better to read other science fiction. No requirement to believe.
Geological devolution does not make true religious faith. People, witches, seers, occultists (all shunned by the Church) have prophesied geologic upheaval and dire changes (drought, famine, floods, disease, etc.), but, this does not make religious belief true.
"God uses earthquakes to serve his purpose"
So, God's purpose is to cause mass loss of life and vast destruction.
"God's word is plain" yeppers - no respect for life. Some God. Might be the devil. Or, might just be earth doing her thing as evolution progresses in to entropy.
"The world is not coming to an end" but species are going extinct and habitats are failing to support remaining populations at greater degrees due to toxic poisons unleashed by men, often, God fearing men, no less.

God is not a respecter of persons. He does the same as any good parent would do if their child continued to disobey, only on a bigger scale because he is God. God giveth and God taketh away. He can do that because he is God. His thoughts are above our thoughts.
I read about the mark long ago, how it would be IN the hand or IN the forehead and I thought somebody made a mistake and meant to use the word ON instead. In the book of Daniel it says that in the last days that knowledge would be increased.
Only in the past century and in particular the past 10 years has knowledge taken off and made it now possible to understand how you could receive a mark in the hand or forehead via a chip implant possibly. That kind of technology could allow someone to control and monitor everyone.
Hey miss Windy Just stopped by to glance around Connecting Singles, haven't been here in a few months. Saw your post and had to reply. Several books in the word of God has information about the last days before the return of Jesus. The books of Daniel and Zechariah are two. From the writings: on the day that Jesus returns to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, armies from the nations of the world are surrounding Israel to completely destroy Israel, but before that happens, Jesus returns and saves Israel. I believe most of the world will be about the same as it is now, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to be in the middle east when Jesus returns. I'll wait for the dust to settle a bit before I book a one way ticket to Jerusalem to be with my savior. Personally, I think Jesus will return around the year 3600, so I won't be here to need a ticket anyway.

Faced with the idea that there is a male figure God whose purpose is to punish those who do not align with "him" and "his" ideology - I have to point out that this God of organized religion has no proprietary claim on the ability to see into the future. As I noted before people (many of whom are women) who have historically been shunned (and even killed by the Church) have been quite adept at foretelling the future. The bible is not the only source of knowledge and God does not have any special gifts that others do not.
"A very simple flaw in the prophecy-fulfillment argument is that foreseeing the future doesn't necessarily prove divine guidance. Psychics have existed in every generation, and some of them have demonstrated amazing abilities to predict future events. Their "powers," although mystifying to those who witness them, are not usually considered divine in origin. If, then, Old Testament prophets did on occasions foresee the future (a questionable premise at best), perhaps they were merely the Nostradamuses and Edgar Cayces of their day. Why would it necessarily follow that they were divinely inspired? Even the Bible recognizes the possibility that uninspired prophets can sometimes accurately predict the future:
"If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, `Let us go after other gods'--which you have not known--`and let us serve them,' you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for Yahweh your God is testing you to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul" (Deut. 13:1-3, NKJV with Yahweh substituted for "the LORD").
By the Bible's own testimony, then, natural psychic ability could offer a perfectly sensible explanation for any example of prophecy that bibliolaters might cite in support of the inerrancy doctrine, but an unbiased contextual examination of the alleged prophecy will very likely uncover an even more rational explanation. Usually, Bible "prophecies" turn out to be prophecies only because imaginative Bible writers arbitrarily declared them to be prophecies. The same can be said of their alleged fulfillments: the fulfillments are fulfillments only because obviously biased New Testament writers arbitrarily declared them to be fulfillments."
John Farrell Till, (born on April 26, 1933, died on October 3, 2012) and known commonly as Farrell Till, was the editor of the formerly published Skeptical Review and was a prominent debater against Christianity and Biblical inerrancy in particular, having published several critical articles of the inerrancy subject as well as skeptical examinations of other Biblical interpretations.
Till was a Church of Christ minister and missionary, but left the church in 1963 and later became an atheist. In addition to having editing The Skeptical Review, Till ran the "Errancy" list, which discusses alleged Biblical contradictions and errors.
He formally and informally debated with numerous Christian thinkers and evangelists, including philosophical apologist Norman Geisler and Young Earth creationism advocate Kent Hovind.
Till held a B.A. English and M.A. English from Harding University. He was a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the National Center for Science Education, and the Council for Secular Humanism.
