The Brits and lots of the Commonwealth seem to love them and it is their taxes who pay for them so more power to them.
The idea of a privileged family by birth that the rest of the country contributes to and you must bow and curtsey to if you meet them doesn't appeal to me. But hey....each to their own.

I am always amazed at how much the general American folk just love the British royalty - the sale of magazines that feature them - like Hello magazine is very very popular.
and I guess it is great to love a type of political power - because it is not part of how Americans politics is structured....
