bodleing: It might not be a big deal in the States galrads but the vast majority of people in the uk at least have never held a firearm. I think it's a valid question and I'm surprised by your unnecessary derision.
Sad that you find my valid enquiry and "unnecessary derision". Very patronizing of you to expect anyone to believe that only people in the USA possess a firearm.
So, please, tell me, what is wrong with wanting to know what the OP means by "live" firearm. And what is wrong with believing owning any type of firearm is a BFD?
We in the USA believe in free speech, especially when we have valid questions. Most of us still prefer not to subjugate or turn over our freedoms to anyone else.
Maybe, in an effort to avoid future CS misunderstanding or miscommunication certain people intimidated by any valid question, like mine, should limit their threads to their locality.
instead of PC police, If the OP dislikes someone elses questions, he should say so or ask wuz up, don't you think?
Glatlol: Get off the stage will you. I am responding to posts made, the same as everyone else. And dont even try go there with the "simple English" comment.
so your joining the SLATNG BAND WAGON, in order to dis credit him.. yet you and your mates don't KNOW him, makes me vomit. i ain't suprized

I asked a Question. Never mentioned America Never said owning a gun is A BFD Never even mentioned "Owning a GUN"
If your so into free speach Why would you make a statement like
"Maybe, in an effort to avoid future CS misunderstanding or miscommunication certain people intimidated by any valid question, like mine, should limit their threads to their locality." and why is this question a BFDto You.
Seems the only free speach you have an intrest in is your own !
we don't live in the uk....having to bear arms. like many coutries....just having one could land you in prison here.even carrying a knife....is an offence.......

Bod mentioned the states. I think the attitude stems from where the direction of the majority of the threads with guns as the focus takes. I do not think you posted the thread with bad intent. that is why I posted on the thread. I usually stay away from threads of Life is to short. Yet to enter a thread like this has the feeling of walking thru a mine field. And yes the threads of that nature do turn offensive towards Americans
