galrads: no mystery behind my question, really, so I'll ask again, what is the BFD of possessing or even just owning a "live" firearm (whatever that is) btw you never did answer my question of what exactly do you mean by a live firearm. I've heard of live ammunition but never a live firearm. I'm not offended by your thread just curious as to what you are talking about and if it is what I think you are talking about, what is the BFD. that's all.
It might not be a big deal in the States galrads but the vast majority of people in the uk at least have never held a firearm. I think it's a valid question and I'm surprised by your unnecessary derision.

My initial question is a simple yes no pole. So your gripe is with my lack of knowledge into gun etiquette. My mistaking the term live fire arm with live ammunition hit a sore spot. Every one else seems to get the drift of what I mean and just moves on but here we are having what seems to be a debate about the outstanding virtues of weather its a big deal or not. Take for example the pole below this one Did you post a comment asking Whats the BFD about Marmite. I will give you the fact that I am no gun expert. But I have a right to ask civil questions without the accusation of some kind of issue other than a curiosity relating to the world I live in.
