I've got friends in the real world so to speak but it's my reference not to honor any friends requests.

Most people who request friendship with me, and no doubt many members, are people who I have never had any communication with whatsoever. It's quite strange and disconcerting really, and I don't like this aspect of the site.
I do think though that some may like collecting friends in order to make themselves appear popular. A bit like Facebook.

Nah , it shouldn't be an issue for somebody to have Friends on their profile until the time comes when one's at the relationship stage and at that stage well neither one of a couple ought to need to be on a dating site for dating purposes .Do You want to see Several other Men, or Women, on their Profiles???

I see a lot of so called "Friends" on the adds I look at. I find it kinda strange that 20 or 30 girls have the same shirtless friends.
Makes me think one of two things...
They are both scammers trying to validate each other's ad... or
They are clueless to scammers using pictures from model agencies..
There are two reasons I can think of for friend requests from people you never spoke with. It is the only way they can say something to you, if they can't use message part.. (It is blocked because they are too far away, or one year above/below your age filter.)
If I feel I am close a close match, but email blocked, I will try a friend request..
I just state in my ad what my criteria is for who I am looking for.
