JeanKimberley: I see all around me, especially at work, everyone getting a little bit stupid by the minute......so, yeah, I can believe they could go the other way to and get smart over time....
There is evolution "forward" and evolution "backward", just different button.
Evolution was the nickname of the most troublefree Harley engine built but I love the shovelhead much much more. Earthlings have done many technological engineering since its 6000 years of existence.

Knucklehead fan myself. alas, best I have ever owned was an 850 Norton Commando,.,....AND NOPE,...it didn't survive the 6000 years since its creation,....but sure as hell acted like it was that old!
Well, my helper monkey Alfred has a masters degree in English from Oxford University and although he provides me with satisfactory bed baths,i have to say that his construction skills are piss poor.
It's obvious that some sort of evolution takes place. However, Darwin's explanation is clearly not how it works. The genetic code could never have developed from the random interaction of matter and physical forces. The case for an intelligent creative force is a million times stronger than the case for Darwinian evolution.

Nortons were awesome but I never owned one but seen them up close and running.

They weren't Harley,...but DAMN they werfe close! Lost mine in a divorce settlement (had to sell!) Lighter than HD but nearly as "noisy"! Snappy! There was a reason they were called Snortin' Nortons! Sure do miss it!
Didn't have video or IPhones back in the day,....tooo bad,.....was decent machine in its day,......available on 8-track, vinyl, or laser-disc in selected stores

stringman: so you believe you came or evolved from a monkey. man is human monkey is animal.
that is just a misinterpretation of evolution. no one said we come from monkeys. we probably came from slime like all other living creatures.
Evolution I think is best illustrated by Darwin's Finches. He uses the differentiation of the ecological niche to illustrate how qualities develop in isolation, but in doing so, illustrates the principle of evolution also with the evolution of adaptations.

But, but..weren't the first two finches called Adam and Eve??
1.accept that (something) is true, especially without proof.
2.hold (something) as an opinion; think.
I wonder why you chose the word 'believe' and how you might define the word in the context of your 'simple enough question'.
Issues of head touching aside, Jac's point about the word 'believe' is well made. Science doesn't 'believe'. It weighs the evidence dispassionately, and there is a lot of evidence supporting the theory, though I'm not sure that evidence against would get published.
I know that we co-evolve with civilisation, and I believe that Darwin most accurately traced the detailed back story of animal mankind.
And this isn't a simple question, you can mince the hell out of this one. Such as the difference between knowing and believing? Which is much more than a question of proof.
