It is the same in America.
Doctors in the past typically high pay, nurses, typically female, low pay. Now there is the new Physician Assistance for both genders, and pays better than nurses, but lower than doctors so that it becomes more affordable for the average American to go to.
Even in the teaching profession, usually low pay, males usually teach match, science and sports get higher wage than women who teach the other subjects.....

if you are talking about rights and opportunities, women are equal to men in their right to protection and dignity. Equality is an absolute human right.
but it does not mean we have to to treat everyone as if they're the same… just a thought !
