rebel2: Always pleased to help I have just finished my coffee on the terrace and it is 20 degrees, still and calm. I can see the moon reflecting on the calm sea. Tomorrow I will stroll across to the café and have a coffee or two with a tostadas. Then a stroll down to the beach, a swim in the sea, followed by a tapas, just watching the local wildlife What will I do in the afternoon? I do not know and it doesn't matter. You will enjoy it, I know you will
Okay don't overdo it or I will wish I was coming to yours instead. Relative seems set on organizing every minute, there'll be little time for calm reflection and solitude.
truheart1941: tell you what..i.ll meet you, getting on the plane....then whack you on the head with a bit of 2x2 wood...you wont remember a thing...promice yer....
Oh, ta. I'm flying from Glascow Prestwick at, um, 05h00, yes, that's it. 05h00. Look forward to seeing you. Don't be late, okay?

I was getting all romantic about my wonderful life
Minerva88: The reason why she's having a panic attack is because she's coming to see me. I've offered her some weed as I've got some in the garden . But first she has to get here! I've also warned her about all those Spanish men here ..and the stallions too!
So Pedal do you still think she's got no reason to panic ?
You never mentioned the weed in the garden forget our lunch date. We'll just sit in the garden and burn weeds.
truheart1941: can you pick me up....... its only about 450 miles
Get a flight direct to Prestwick on Tuesday, you can sleep overnight in the waiting room and be bright and early for my flight. I'll return the favour for your trip, you know I will.

I wondered - but it's only a 10 hour flight, it's a breeze. A doddle. You'll walk it Flying during the day, or overnight? During the day's good, they feed you every couple of hours and you watch the Sahara unfold underneath you between meals. Enjoy!!!
serene56: Hi Pete The term 'First World problems' is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the things that we in developed countries find concerning.
Delayed flights, cold lattes, slow internet connection etc.
Things that those in Third World countries will most likely never encounter as their concerns involve adequate shelter, food, clean water, medical attention, etc etc
right.... nice to see you back....haved missed you......

Hi Serene you been off on some fantastic lust affair???? I'm not being nosey or anything, I won't tell anyone
Elegsabiff: in this particular case, going on a holiday I didn't want, with a relative who is counting on me, and the closer it gets the more panicky I get, and I don't know why.
Just wondered if anyone has had the same and what the outcome was.
It could equally apply to changing jobs, moving country, getting married, much more serious things ...
tell her the truth...could be that she'd be equally relieved to not have your company
sometimes the anxiety we sense is actually bounced back onto us because there are tensions that are shared. You may not be the only one feeling it. Think of others too. You may be sensing what the other person feels.
Elegsabiff: When you KNOW the thing you are about to do is something you shouldn't do, but it will cost you money and upset someone close to you if you don't - what do you do?
In the unlikely event anyone does check back here - I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO MY INSTINCTS AND NOT GONE
Bloody horrible. Seriously. The social side was great but yikes the relative has chip on shoulder the size of the Empire State building and everything that ever went wrong in her life was my fault. Starting with me being born.

My late Wife also had occasional anxiety feelings concerning her work during before she retired and said the massage I gave her always relieved it

So next time I will know. Don't GO.
Just shows you should take more notice of you instincts you get them for a reason
either or go or don't whatever makes you happiest. no reason to something voluntary if you do not want to.
If you want to go just go and remember that thousands of people fly in planes everyday
I agree with Jac, the issue of your anxiety goes deeper than going on a holiday. If you really want to get to the reasons you will have to address that and dig a little deeper,

I agree with this also (and it's also wny I am usually against medicating such feelings). The anxiety could be a valuable message from your body or your psyche to listen to that you need to do something differently
