Of late I've said "All things being equal I' rather I didn't have mine." but now realizing it means I'll never find myself in a relationship with a women who wouldn't consider a relationship with someone because they have a tattoo, I've reconsidered.
I now see my tattoo as highly useful life filter.

Yep, I dates someone a long time ago and he had tattoo's. He was no different than any other man, he still put his pants on one leg at a time.

In my case, generally Yes. As long as (as some have already pointed out) they are not all encompassing and have some artistic qualities. But generally it does have more to do with a good personality, a pretty face, and a delicious body (at least by my standards).
Myself, I have no tats. Not because I don't like them. In fact I designed a Celtic armband to hail my cultural heritage and personality. Trouble was the amount of money required to get the art work done (after all the bike needs new tires and I need a tropical vacation) AND the fear of not getting a good enough artist.
So this question can be viewed from both sides...
