i personally believe that reincarnation is a possibility. i also believe in pre-agreements.
but i wanna disagree with the latter part of your statement.
i used to read a lot by colin wilson (he wrote about the phenomenological examination of consciousness). during an interview i was watching on tv, colin wilson said, "after death is going to be whatever you think it will be, so be aware of your own beliefs"....which got me thinking....there's more than one choice.

i think what colin wilson was saying is that 'it's whatever you think it will be'...so if you believe in heaven..it'll be there. if you believe in hell...it'll be there. if you believe in reincarnation..it'll be there. if you believe you become dust in a box...it'll be there...if you believe it will be nothing....it'll be there...infinite possibilities..based on infinite consciousness.
i don't have the answers.
but i can tell you, i'm comfortable with my own beliefs, and i'm also comfortable that everyone's beliefs are not the same.
