jac_the_gripper: Umm, how can technology take over unless you facilitate?

Technology can't take over by force of it's own volition.

You have to provide the means of it taking over your children's and grandchildren's lives.

No idea what you said but I disagree professor

I remember finding tires in the city dump...we would then take them up to "Suicide Hill" , force ourselves into the time, then roll down the hill......yep, right into the dump.

I had a very tumultuous childhood, but all of my good memories took place outdoors. If I wasn't in the mood to play, I was made to go outside. I would then seek other kids I knew and always had fun. Roller skating, bike riding, wrestling matches, And of course,,,Suicide Hill

Anyone remember playing "skin the knife"?

1] I drank out of a garden hose and lived. Sometimes the water was hotter than we were.
2] I was ordered, after school and homework done, to get out of the house and be back at 6pm.
3] The proof of bike riding was road pizzas on elbows and knees.
4] Helmets, gloves and safety glasses -- what are they?
5] M80s and cherrybombs, and Black Cats by the box.
6] Roman Candle Wars with short sleeves, shorts and barefoot.
7] What's a TV? I had a crystal radio that could get KVOO at night. Wolfman Jack from Laredo!
8[ Phones had dials, but we were not allowed to use it.
9] Playing in the street was OK. Getting run over was not.
10] You could swim in a creek or pond. Just watch out for water moccasins and snapping turtles.

I for one absolutely agree Jac-
in the last 15 years in fact since the Mobile phone really took off and developed intothe all singin all dancin Smart phone they are now used as an offensive weapon in public and even at meal tables in restaurants.

I have often said and been insulted for even mentioning the Phrases "with rights go responsibility" *courtesy to others" - "self-discipline" and the word Discipline is treated as if it was a poison.
Needless top say my extensive Workshop Vocabulary is more than able to cope.
