The BIG Issue that we should all be concerned about is 'What happens when the items listed all intersect and the resultant disruption to trade, logistics (and everything) leads to a total failure in the supply chain for the pharmaceutical medicines (especially psychotropic drugs) that people have been convinced that they cannot live without ... highly likely that we'll see a huge spike in violent crimes, murders and suicides ?

I'm fairly sure the danger is much higher and more prevalent than you think in pharma. Regarding our total supply chain and China imports - as well as other imports, hey?- grave consequences are possible, a product critical to national security could become impossible to repai or replace.

No, I'm not at all underestimating this raphael - rather I'd respectfully suggest that the impact upon (lessening of) the availability of pharmaceuticals and most especially psychotropic pharmaceuticals should neither be underestimated or downplayed. There are many people who have been persuaded that such drugs are essential to their life and there will be a 'nocebo' effect which will certainly aggravate the negative impact upon many people. In addition, there's millions of people who have been 'sold onto' Statins (and similar drugs) just because of their age ... my own former GP ( family doc ) wanted me to take those when I was 50 'just because I was 50' and not because of any underlying health problem. There are also many drugs such as beta blockers and other categories which a person becomes dependent upon 'for the rest of their life' and who will most certainly suffer if their supplies are interrupted. But those with mental health issues ... may sadly prove to be a threat to themselves and others :-( Regarding our total supply chain and China imports - as well as other imports, hey?- grave consequences are possible, a product critical to national security could become impossible to repai or replace.
Well, I'm glad you can see this - you've fought ne tooth n nail previously when I pointed out US dependency in threads debating the collusion between US Govt and Corporates to 'export jobs' from the US to low wage economies. So far as 'critical to national defence' well, the DoD (two years ago?) stated that there were hundreds of such 'critical items' that were being imported and for which the US did not have any native manufacturing capability. Similarly with rare earth minerals ... US DID have an industry and ran it down in favour of cheaper imports ... gonna take billions to resurrect and a ten years time span to become effective! Short term thinking ... a dollar right now and to heck with tomorrow ?

I'm most concerned about what the children an beyond have to sort out from what has been handed down to them....... Adults more concerned about what is actually not needed to live Nowdays....... Adults never needed a throw away society before now. Our parents certainly didn't pass that onto us...... Do you even know how much water you use etc ??????????????? From what I've noticed...... They'll have to clean up before they can live life as we do.....
P.s. I recycle everything..... My fridge/ freezer is over 20 yrs old.... I still own my 2nd eva tv..... I recycle an give to womens refuge an salvation army free....... Buy where it’s easiest, not where it’s cheapest. That was the basis for the Monroe doctrine that built the United States.
But automation kicks the legs out of outsourcing. Do they have to be Chinese robots.. Is there any reason to believe that robots made in China will be more profitable and hardworking? No.
The aim should be to have all the essential ingredients for national security produced by in-house robots. Or as near as dammit. Questions of who and who isn’t a slob fall away with the AI.

I never considered a world wide plague! Supply disruptions can occur even if everything is made inside the country. The main thing now is make sure Trump has lots of paper towels to toss to passer byes near the White House lawn! Great photo OPS!!! I'm also sure the "lack of preparation", which both parties are probably responsible for, will be shocking. Trump has his usual idiocy to display to the public today. He has "hunch" the mortality rate is under 1% and all the data from the WHO and CDC etc. that contradicts China and himself is just a liberal conspiracy. Maybe the conservatives can change their name to the "HUNCH" PARTY!?
Saying that, when I hear a Louth girl say Chocolate I don't need no little blue pills..
Oh you were reading loads a threads lmao Ben and jerry don't answer back and we can just put a lid on them and put them back in the freezer, its frisky that likes chocolate not me
