Retired since around 58. No need to work. Thank you parents and late husband. Hope they know how much I appreciate them.

"No rule is written in stone" is the only rule that can be written in stone. As you get more educated and evolves, you will naturally change how you look at things. If you are the same person at 40 as you were at 20, you didn't learn anything.

I do well. I'm comfortable. Retirement on $6,000 a month...I also own land and will leave my daughters and grandchildren well. I do enjoy 'horse trading' tho as a side hustle. The side hustle allows me to indulge in my weakness for antiques and art auctions and help others .
Recently I purchased an 1880 porcelain plate for $40 and sold it for $300.
I picked up 6 "Blue Angels" rare helmet decals for $5 and sold them all for $120
I purchased at a local police auction a Kawasaki Ninja 500R for $600 and I currently have it for sale for $1500. I had it detailed today, and it looks so good ...I may keep it (not)
I pretty much put up a privacy fence of BRAND NEW 6' cedar planks for free. I got the wood planks for free (the lady had a bunch left over from a job on her large property and I inquired about them and she said you can have them if you just get them off my property! It never hurts to ask...I sent the yard man to go pick them up) and paid a 2 guys just for labor. Normally it would've cost me $2K for fencing but the job was minimum wage AND... one of the guys wants to buy my motorcycle!
Today I picked up... FOR $25... a Sony component system including turntable, AM/FM tuner, amplifier, multiple carousel CD changer, and the accompanying dual cassette deck ALL IN THEIR ORIGINAL BOXES. Yes they are 20 years outdated... but I'm old school, and all I need are some cool Bose 901 or Klipsh speakers and its the 90's all over again LOL. Seriously though... I probably can get an easy $250 for it from audiophiles.
My side hustle allowed me to send my daughter in Florida $1,050 for her to fix her car last week...
I've always got something going on. it makes me happy!
