zee1ander: Actually I would rather dwell on North Korea starting up their nuclear program again..... thank you Bill Clinton for giving the North Korean government the Facility.

I'm with you as far as N.Korea and how it was handled by the Clinton admin. I'm far from a Clinton supporter in an form, shape or fashion.
Glad that 9/11 didn't happen on his watch. All he woulda done is send over a few million dollar cruise missiles to destroy 10$ camels and called it a day.
zee1ander: Plus I think saddling our great grandchildren with a debt that they still may never get out of is still more impressive than anything Bush ever did and Obama did that in less that 100 days, not 8 years.
zee
And again, I agree with you that we are going the wrong way by trying to spend our way out of the recession
zee1ander: First we were hearing "Wait until Obama gets into office", then it was "give him a chance, see what he does in his first month", then it was 2, 3 and 4 months. Then we started hearing a year, then his first term, then he may not get it fixed in his first term, wait for his second.
Geez, now I'm hearing that we need to give Obama 50 years to see if he's done a good job. We might as well just give him a pass and expect nothing out of him.... The presidential welfare system.
If you expect nothing out of people they will fulfill your ever expectation.

as i have previously stated in other forums, i agree with his stem cell research, his willing to close gitmo, however not so sure about those bailouts(i dont know what the answer woulda been to that one, let the whole economy collapse??), and now they're saying iraq and afghanistan are going to take 5 years to get complete calm in the region.......

have to agree there.....but i dont know what the alternative answer would've been to that one.....
Indyfella: After every downturn, there's an upturn.
i realise this indy..........
after the economy completely collapsed... i see you woulda been the first one complaining when all your investments went broke and you would have had to rely on welfare
rocketqueen: have to agree there.....but i dont know what the alternative answer would've been to that one.....
over to you zee
Well, when all this money is pumped into failing companies and they are still failing.... when money is pumped into the banking system to free up money for loans and the banks still are making loans.... it is a tough call, because like everything said about Bush is after the fact. if these people were so smart, they would have stopped it before it got started.
It seems to me, when people get deep into debt, they cut until it is manageable. I really don't think that if I had more money going out each month than i had coming in, I wouldn't go on a spending spree.
The government is also ruining the dollar. They are printing it faster than ever before with nothing to back it up.
We are really heading for a melt down in the currency market because countries are starting to refuse the US Dollar as a viable currency.

ok...so you and i agree with letting these companies fail?? i mean after all it is capitalism after all...... i would just be worried of the pure anarchy that would probly start tho..............
after the economy completely collapsed... i see you woulda been the first one complaining when all your investments went broke and you would have had to rely on welfare
I appreciate your concern for me.... You must love me.
rocketqueen: i had to say that because your the only repub on here in the last couple of days thats putting anything REAL (ie issues) on here to debate.........
the others just come in an sni**er and make derogatory comments, with no REAL input
thank you sweetie, but please don't divert my attention.... we all know you kick my butt in debates as it is...

in regards to that short sharp air-strike on iraq when clinton was in government, that shut down saddam didnt it tho???????
rocketqueen: thats if they have any money left after that business fails (the nvestors are usually 3rd on the list to get any money back, after the creditors, and liquidators)
In the case of AIG, is anyone with a claim getting paid out? AIG is still knee deep in the manure. What is the advantage of paying a company for protection when you don't get paid for a claim? Companies could have started a new policy with someone else and been better protected, I would think.
I was insured with AIG for home and Auto... after receiving a huge hike in my bill, I went somewhere else.

You mean by the Israelis? We are not the Israel. Who then would conduct the strike? Plus what would stop the North Korean Army from invading South Korea? It would be a rout by pure numbers.

no i meant by the americans back in the mid 90's....when it looked like saddam was heading back to kuwait???
rocketqueen: when clinton was in office......and the iraqis retreated so fast, you couldnt see them for the dust!!!!!!! (imagine roadrunner!!)
beep beep...
But Iraq still hadn't recovered from the Persian Gulf War. His Military was still weak and he knew what US Air Power could do to him. Sadam was ready to give up power just yet. Plus, Sadam couldn't afford to loose many more Baby Milk Factories when he was trying to build his population back up to supply his military.
