Ross123: Its truly frightening, when we are in a situation where the United States is threatened by a dangerous James-Bond villain loony Kim Jong-Il in N. Korea, a bunch of whackos in Iran, and the Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and Obama's response is left-wing rhetoric about how he wants to end nuclear weapons and reach out to our enemies. Obama doesn't have a clue. I agree that we don't need to start a big war. We just need to scare the bad guys. The fact that they don't fear Obama like the feared Bush during the first two years after 9/11 deeply disturbs me. You may not believe in the threats out there but they believe in you. Well, those people who voted for him are getting what you deserve. We are being victimized by shallow identity politics where anyone who is not white is trained from an early age to see themselves as a victim and not do anything to better themselves. In fact, anyone who is not your middle-aged white guy in a powersuit is encouraged to feel a grievance.
druidess6308: We Republicans still have a voice in this country, whether you Democrats like it or not. It's a free country. And I agree that someone with more political experience and expertise might have been a better choice.
However, we have who we have, and I'll give him a chance, even though I didn't vote him in, and was against him getting in, to the White House. Better than the bi*ch that he beat out for the ticket, at least.
And to think Ron Paul was my top choice! Go figure.

What a great export for America. Funny, your government has been doing that since the country's inception. All it seems to have done is turn the majority of the planet against you.
I think respect would be a better way to go, but whatever.

UMMMMM......YEH THEY WERE SO SCARED OF BUSH ORIGINALLY THEY FLEW THE DAMN PLANES INTO THE TOWERS......
if you think they were all scared of bush after that, then why didnt they all give in and give up???
I thought Australia was one of the last countries along with the US which still was willing to fight for what they believed in. Certainly, the Australian Army have been fighting hard in Afghanistan. I know that in recent years, they have caved badly on gun ownership rights. Australia has joined countries like Britain and Canada where they have disrmed the citizenry. I hope it won't go totally left-wing. I mean if there are more people doing the typically economically parasitic lefty things like collecting welfare, spending a decade in university, or applying for grants to study bicycle paths or global warming, who will be left to defend our country and arrest criminals?

Isn't the "Loyal Opposition" a right extended by congress to the members of the minority party? If the Republicans ever get back in control, should we deny all right to speak to the Democrats? Tit for Tat?

Got me on that one, Toranoga, but no, I don't think any citizen of this country should be denied the right to voice their opinion.
What I'd like to see is the choke-hold that the Republicans and Democrats have on the other parties broken. Ralph Nader came close that one year to having a really good shot, and the two parties have worked together ever since then to ensure it can't happen again. Shame, too...we get some of our best candidates from the Independent and Libertarian parties...they just never have a chance.

Ummmm, maybe you should check your stats.
Canadian troops are in Afghanastan, and nobody has disarmed Canadian citizens.
