I would say it's a bit more "manly" to "play the hand you're dealt" instead of a daily sound bite of " Hey, Bush did it" or "it isn't my fault". That sounds like a weenie. I remember that kind of crap in the 3rd grade.

What surplus? The National Debt was $5.6T when Bush took office and $$11.3T when he left. Bill Clinton had a "buget" surplus because of some creative slight of hand accounting by Robert Rubin in 1994 & 95. Those surpluses were one time transfers of funds from accounts with short term excess funds that found their way into the general fund.
OMB estimates that at the end of fiscal 2010 the National Debt will be $14.1T, or an increase of 25% from January 09 thru June 30, 2010.

Its truly frightening, when we are in a situation where the United States is threatened by a dangerous James-Bond villain loony Kim Jong-Il in N. Korea, a bunch of whackos in Iran, and the Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and Obama's response is left-wing rhetoric about how he wants to end nuclear weapons and reach out to our enemies.
