buzzy: I guess what my mom told me all those years is true. "Don't suffer morons, it is a waste of time." You buddy are a huge waste of time and space!

By the way buddy, my name is in honor of my father, who served in two wars. Buzzy was his navy nick name. It has nothing to do with drugs. Again you try hard, but shoot blanks. Come on, give it another shot.

I stand by what I said about disarmament. In about 2/3 of the USA, all you need to buy a firearm is show a drivers license. Then they run a quick computer check to make sure you are not a fugitive, or a mental patient, nor someone with a prior felony conviction, then you have your gun. There is no registering of the firearm, nor any licensing of owners. Gun ownership is a basic right of citizenship, like the right to vote, or the right to own a house. The exceptions to this happy state of affairs are California, Hawaii, Illinois, D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
druidess6308: Got me on that one, Toranoga, but no, I don't think any citizen of this country should be denied the right to voice their opinion.
What I'd like to see is the choke-hold that the Republicans and Democrats have on the other parties broken. Ralph Nader came close that one year to having a really good shot, and the two parties have worked together ever since then to ensure it can't happen again. Shame, too...we get some of our best candidates from the Independent and Libertarian parties...they just never have a chance.
I don't seek to deny anyone the right to their opinion, you even get some good ideas from the opposition once in a while, but it does go both ways. It just seems like the general idea of some is that Obama won, so shut up and live with it! In 1920, Eugene V. Debbs got over 20% of the vote as the socialist candidate, which exceeds Perrot or Nader. When things get screwed up enough, a third party does seem to get attention, but it does not happen very often. At one time, we did eliminate the Whigs and the Federalists!
rocketqueen: this is the cost of war as of 5 mins ago in iraq............ $662,029,833,617
and afghanistan...................... $186,367,462,213
and no that not in cents (or insense for all of you)
But think of how many poor people had a job because of the war and how many pay checks came in to families of servicemen and women! Or, how about the pickup loads of dollars that were distributed across Iraq?

Do you understand the meaning of the word "disarm"?

buzzy: And to think Ron Paul was my top choice! Go figure.
He was the only one worth anything in that race. The other two were just puppets for the same people who brought us all the financial and human disasters of the last century.

Had Ron Paul had a snowball's chance in hell, I'd have had his bumpersticker.
