It all depends on which head you are refering to 
if a woman says she misses me i am profoundly touched and warmed from the bottom of my heart as i know she is genuinly interested in me and likes me....and it does wonders for my other "head" as well

No I don't think men become big-headed if a woman says she misses him. I think they appreciate it most of the time - unless they don't also miss the girl of course. I think it would only make a guy feel arrogant or superior if he was that way inclined already. :-)
