elsson: No problem with your view at all. On an historical note we had a female (impersonator) as prime minister for a long time. Because she was female do you think her politics were any different to her male colleagues?? Gender is not the issue at all but the policies whether black, white, male, female. As long as the job was done. Nothing to do with race or gender.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! And it has nothing to do with gender or the fact that she has a soccer mom approach to politics. I'm all for any woman doing whatever she has the mind and talent to do, but that woman needs to be home with her special needs child. In life, we are given challenges and gifts, and we need to make sacrifices in some areas to do the best we can with what we've been given. Her child is a special gift. She chose to have the baby, she needs to step up to the plate and care for him. I couldn't vote for any person who leaves important matters in the hands of others. What would she walk away from as president......?????

dunno

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing I can't believe that some people voted yes!.

The fact that she was even chosen to run as VP was a slap in the face to smart, intelligent women everywhere. She has no more education, intelligence or sense then the average soccer mom.

She attended Hawaii Pacific University in the fall of 1982 and North Idaho College in the spring and fall of 1983. (In June 2008, the Alumni Association of North Idaho College gave her its Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award). She attended the University of Idaho in the fall of 1984 and spring of 1985, and attended Matanuska-Susitna College in the fall of 1985. She returned to the University of Idaho in the spring of 1986, receiving her bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism from there in 1987. WIKIconfused

Why perplexed, Conrad?? JBib said she had no more education than the 'average' soccer mom. Your research indicates that Palin has a bachelor degree. Most of the soccer moms I knew had AT LEAST a bachelor degree, many had more... JBib's assessement on that score are correct.

Yeah, but you're not trying to run for president. They made such a big deal about having a canidate that people could "relate to"... I wouldn't want a president I couud relate to...I'd want one so bloody brilliant they might make sense of the mess. There are some incredibly brilliant women out there...I just found it insulting that when the good ol' boys finally decided to bring a woman on to the scene they chose onen that was such an embarrassment...the woman couldn't even name a magazine or newspaper that she reads...doh

Pocoloco44: Those who have not properly researched Palin, don't always have a very good opinion of her, as they simply depend on Liberal drive by media lap dog sound bites. Regardless of what those on the left have said based on their own stupidity, there's no arguing her success, from Motherhood to Governorship, she has proven herself to be a force to reckon with, if the left wasn't scared to death of her, they wouldn't bother attacking her daily. The left always attacks those they fear the most and try their best to discredit them somehow. To better understand her decisions for leaving office early, one must read the book, it just makes sense why she left.

Do the words 'pot' and 'kettle' ring any bells with you or what? Ive yet to see a post made by you that doesnt do exactly what you accuse others of doh

That's assumptive and impervious, I've studied both aspects, what has been written about her, and by her. You see that allows an unsullied conclusion, rather then being an ultracrepidarian.

Well, based on the poll 73% wouldn't vote for her which is a resounding defeat in any contest. The most striking result comes from women between 18 & 40 who voted 83% against her. She did best among men over 41 which isn't surprising but even that catagory voted 65% NO. This to me is a pretty conclusive rejection of Ms. Palin.
On a personal note, I would like to see a woman president. I realise I'm not British but I really liked Margaret Thatcher. I thought the world of Golda Miere and in my states primary I voted for Hillary Clinton. But, anybody who aspires to the most powerful position on this planet had better know what authority permitted her own country to invade a sovereign nation, a doctrin established by the person holding the highest office who also happened to be of her own party. I would be surprised if a high school student taking a political science test couldn't describe the Bush Doctrin in detail. Maybe Katie Couric was being unfair to ask her a trick question like that.
