trish123: I understand how frustrating it can be but think we have enough rules and regulations to live by.

Sometimes it simply takes pointing the finer points of netiquette out to a person

Even if a post does only get a few replies it doesnt make it worthless - and besides, who are we to judge the worth - if you dont want to reply, fine nobody forces you to - but at the ned of the day, its different strokes for different folks

Sorry to rant!
say something to that one person just starts a war, But is not right that we have to go to the 2,3,4,5 th pages to read a thread because the entire first page in filled by one person posting 20 threads.

"who are we to judge the worth " YOU ARE RIGHT!handshake

handshake laugh we are all entitled to a good ole rant my friend - its only what I am doing by letting myself get so involved in this thread laugh

I lost count of the number of threads on the first three pages when I signed in this morning - but getting mad about it only provokes a likewise response and makes people dig their heels in even further - I think we will see an improvement now though - and if not I will be asking the mods for an 'eat my words' emoticon rolling on the floor laughing

For what its worth, i think tha a limit
of ten threads per day would not
restict most of us in any way.
It would nevertheless restict the
odd clowns that turn up from time
to time bombarding us with endless
threads however well meaning.

arabella: I think everyone should have a fair number but that number should be set and governed by the Moderators.

That way, they can prevent "flooding" by individuals who are posting just to be irritating or to dominate the threads.

Truthfully I would like to know exactly who this part is and why he is able to do what it is he does and still manage to hang out around here.

I asked and my questions were never answered....so I figure that some members have friends in high places.

Or maybe the rules are not the same for everybody confused

But we are all free to come and go, post or don't post, read or ignore that which is of no interest.

No, I do not think there should be a limit.

We would be asking the Mods to assert discipline over us instead of exerting self discipline and IGNORING the threads

And as Lorraine said, the next thing would be controlling content.

I find postings for purposes of insulting people or disrupting the forum obnoxious and annoying, and it is depressing to log in, see nothing I feel like reading or replying to and log out again.

However I feel that about the topics of the threads as well as about multiple threads by those too insensitive or uncaring or egocentric to take others peoples' needs into consideration.

That said, why should any one stop posting threads when other members keep them alive?

And if I ever feel like posting sixteen poems in a row I want to be able to do it!rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

thats a nice idea trish but unfair to her
i think anyone annoyed should report and say why
at whatever limit they feel that day regarding the person

doesnt it say something in the rules about
flooding with threads or thread titles that are not allowed?
those would be simple to report on-in the rules,
mods dont have to make a judgement call-clean for everyone

besides to impose a limit of any amount on each member
would take so much technical input and maintenance by mods-
new people joining forums-
those getting around the limit by starting new profiles...
it would not be practical or fair to them-(MODS)
and this is ideally a 'turn-key operation'
why should they have to do that work for no money?

i would like to say tho
its really hot how graham can be swayed w/ reasonable ease and effort

a person can post each day?

If so, maybe you could suggest what that limit
should be set at.

No it should not be regulated...

Its the beauty of this site... its a living being.

The enterprise never interfered with a new life form and neither should we.

At least I am capable to find the threads that interest me, arnt you (plural - meaning all of a differning opinion)? cheers

Oh i've not been swayed that much MF
It was just something i was pondering

Anyway its a bit out of character for me
