I take you to this site.

The program has been around from many years under our HRSA.

Under HRSA there are 200 facilities in the US, spread across it....
required by law to provide free health care or low cost health care. The 200 facilities are likely in the countries largest cities. So would would like have to access to over 85% of the countries low income and below the proverty line.

The HRSA program covers everything from dental work to heart surgery to elderly care.

The US tried having socialized health care all ready. It's called Medicare (for seniors and disabled people) and Medicaid (for low-income people). It isn't working now. And it won't work in the future.

My sister is disabled and she gets both medicare and medicaid. Her premiums that she much pay to have both of these insurances cost her $500 a month. Add the co-pays of her medicine and she is paying another $100 a month. Some of the services and medicines she needs she cannot get because the government (who runs medicare and medicaid) says she is not sick enough or doesn't need them to exist.

So much for free health insurance.

time4fun4u: I can assure you,we in europe dont support Obama, but there again,we dont down cry him either. The vast majority of europeans accept that your politics in the USA are your affair, and dont feel qualified to comment.
It does however seem a shame that the constant bickering between the two parties only slows down any recovery, and once again, the people suffer.
When all said and done, what party you are in should be set aside, and all the experience and skills from either party, successful business people, and specialists should be pooled together to put the country on the road to recovery.
That surley should be the priority, not the individuals standing in politics.

katt1017: Perhaps at that instant in time, ultimately it is anything but free.

Look at a lifetime of paying in on the tax system. Add in the portion of what each person pays on purchases to cover the taxes a business pays (you do realize they pass that cost on to the consumer don't you?). Let's also factor in the indirect cost of having businesses outsource to other countries to avoid some of the tax liabilities caused by providing "free" health care etc.

What is the cost now?

Freshmen spur GOP-run House on big spending cuts

By ANDREW TAYLOR Associated Press The Associated Press
Saturday, February 19, 2011 12:30 PM EST

WASHINGTON (AP) — The GOP-run House, jolted by freshmen determined to drive down the deficit, snatched $61 billion from hundreds of federal programs while shielding coal companies, oil refiners and farms from new federal regulations.

Passage early Saturday of the $1.2 trillion bill, covering every Cabinet agency through Sept. 30, when the current budget year ends, sent the measure to the Senate, where it faces longer odds, and defied a White House veto threat.

The largely party-line vote of 235-189 was the most striking victory to date for the 87 freshman Republicans elected last fall on a promise to attack the deficit and reduce the reach of government. Three Republicans joined Democrats in opposing the measure.

"The American people have spoken. They demand that Washington stop its out-of-control spending now, not some time in the future," said freshman Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan.

The legislation imposes severe spending cuts on domestic programs and foreign aid. Targets include schools, nutrition programs, environmental protection, and heating and housing subsidies for the poor.

The measure faces a rough ride in the Democratic-controlled Senate. That was the case even before late GOP amendments pushed the bill further to the right on health care and environmental policy.

Senate Democrats are promising higher spending levels and are poised to defend President Barack Obama's health care bill, environmental policies and new efforts to overhaul regulation of the financial services industry.

Changes rammed through the House on Friday and Saturday would shield greenhouse-gas polluters and privately owned colleges from federal regulators; block a plan to clean up the Chesapeake Bay; and bar the government from shutting down mountaintop mines it believes will cause too much water pollution.

In almost every case, the measure sides with business groups over environmental activists and federal regulators.

"This is like a Cliff Notes summary of every issue that the Republicans, the Chamber of Commerce, and the (free market) CATO Institute have pushed for 30 years," said Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass. "And they're just going to run them through here."

Thousands of protesters surround Wisconsin Capitol

By TODD RICHMOND and DINESH RAMDE Associated Press The Associated Press
Saturday, February 19, 2011 2:34 PM EST

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A state Capitol thrown into chaos swelled for a fifth day with thousands of protesters, as supporters of Republican efforts to scrap the union rights of state workers added their voices to the debate for the first time and GOP leaders insisted again Saturday there was no room for compromise.

Supporters of Gov. Scott Walker and his effort to ease Wisconsin's budget woes gathered on the east side of the Capitol, surrounded by a much larger group of pro-labor demonstrators who since Tuesday have filled the Capitol with chanting, drum-beats and anti-Walker slogans. Walker has proposed requiring government workers to contribute more to their health care and pension costs and largely eliminating their collective bargaining rights.

Saturday's line-up included a rally organized by Tea Party Patriots, the movement's largest umbrella group, and Americans for Prosperity. Their supporters carried signs with a fresh set of messages: "Your Gravy Train Is Over . . . Welcome to the Recession" and "Sorry, we're late Scott. We work for a living."

"We did have an election and Scott Walker won," said Deborah Arndt, 53, of Sheboygan Falls. "I think our governor will stand strong. I have faith in him."

Arndt and the other conservative backers of Walker had their faith rewarded shortly before the start of the noon rally, when Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald reaffirmed that Republicans — who took control of both the state Senate and Assembly in November — have the votes needed pass the measure.

"The bill is not negotiable," Fitzgerald said inside a heavily guarded Senate parlor at the Capitol. "The bill will pass as is."

Fitzgerald said the Senate is ready to act on the so-called "budget repair" bill just as up as soon as 14 Senate Democrats who fled the state on Thursday and remain in hiding return to the Statehouse. The missing Democrats have threatened to stay away for weeks unless Walker agrees to negotiate.

Sen. Tim Cullen, a Democrat from Janesville, refused to say where he was Saturday but said he didn't expect the Senate to meet again until Tuesday. Cullen said he was watching Saturday's rallies on television with some friends.

Media, Not Boehner, are "Tongue-tied" on Obama's Personal History

By Cliff Kincaid

Following the lead of David Gregory of NBC News, who wants Republican House Speaker John Boehner to publicly defend the legitimacy of the Obama presidency, the Los Angeles Times has now editorialized that Boehner ought to make it his business to rebut charges that Obama is a foreign-born Muslim.

With the Los Angeles Times joining the chorus, it appears that the left-wing media are trying to get the House Republican leadership to pull Obama out of the quicksand he finds himself in, as doubts and questions keep mounting about his personal history. The media strategy seems to be to paint GOP House leaders as crazies if they don't condemn the "birthers" questioning Obama's legitimacy as President.

It is almost as if the media are trying to prevent the House Republican majority from conducting a serious investigation into the circumstances of Obama's birth.

The Times said in an editorial , "In an interview on NBC's 'Meet the Press,' Boehner was willing to concede that he believes Obama is both a native-born citizen and a Christian. But, the speaker said, that was because 'I'll take him at his word,' as if Obama's assurances were the only corroboration of his citizenship and his religion."

The paper went on, "In fact, a 'certificate of live birth' establishes that he was born in Hawaii. As for his religion, Obama's involvement with a Chicago church is well documented." The editorial was titled, "The tongue-tied speaker."

But the Times demonstrated that it is far beyond "tongue-tied" itself and is deliberately obscuring the facts.

Any journalist who bothers to compare Obama's "certification of live birth" with traditional documents of this nature finds that the Obama version does not provide any of the details that are available on a long-form or original birth certificate. Obama's vague document does not have the name of the hospital where he was born, the occupation of his father or mother, or the signature of the attending physician.

On the matter of religion, Obama's "involvement with a Chicago church," the one associated with the notorious anti-American preacher Jeremiah Wright, does not prove that he was baptized as a Christian. As we have noted , Obama has made the claim that he joined that church, but he has not produced a certificate of baptism and there is no evidence he had a traditional Christian baptism there, in the sense of undergoing an experience of receiving water symbolizing the Holy Spirit. In addition, Muslims could join Wright's Christian church.

Part 2

"Even more objectionable," the Times said, was Boehner's refusal to tell the American people what to think about these matters. This means, the Times said, echoing David Gregory, that Boehner is failing to expose and challenge the American public's "ignorance."

Rather than demonstrating ignorance, the opinion polls finding that significant numbers of people are confused about Obama's religious identity, and the fact that some believe he is a Muslim may reflect the failure of the major media to insist that Obama prove who or what he says he is.

This failure is troubling, especially because we know that Obama and his campaign deliberately lied about Obama's childhood mentor in Hawaii, Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis. Obama concealed his real identity in his book Dreams from My Father and when it was revealed that the mysterious "Frank" was in fact Frank Marshall Davis, the Obama campaign in 2008 said Davis was just a civil rights activist.

Boehner is entitled to give Obama the benefit of the doubt, although his constituents might wonder why he is doing so, considering the stakes involved in an issue as central as Obama's constitutional eligibility to be president. But the American people have the right, in light of the available evidence, to remain doubtful.

It is not unreasonable to believe that Obama has something to hide in the matters of his birth and religious affiliation. It is significant that our major media seem now to be in a frenzy over the fact that the House Speaker is unwilling to erase the public's doubts.
