swade777: Your question of how does God decide who is worth saving and who isn't is an easy question to answer...

"For God so loved the WORLD - (that includes YOU) - that HE gave HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that WHOSOEVER - (that also includes YOU) - believeth in Him, should NOT perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Having the free will that God gave us at the time of creation puts YOU in a position of determining where YOU spend your eternity.

Simply stated...
Believe (in faith), God's truth (His Word - The Bible) and become one of His children by asking the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart to forgive you of your sin - which He already has! - (if you'll just receive that gift of forgiveness in faith by asking Him for it!) Seal your eternal existence in His Kingdom through and by His own promise - which He cannot and will not break.

OR....

By your own free will, reject God's Word of truth and seal unto yourself an eternal separation from Him and His glory.

Ultimately, your eternal destiny rests entirely upon your own position of decision making.

Ephesians 2:8,9 says... "For by grace are ye SAVED through FAITH; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Even the 'faith' that is required to be saved is freely given by God to those who earnestly desire to know Him).

The declarations you've made of your admirable actions toward others and animals, although a wonderful testament to your humanity, does NOT play into an ability or hope of achieving acceptance by God into His Kingdom.
"No One" - (Sister Theresa included)... enters into God's Kingdom without going through the only door provided by Himself, - (that 'door' being the Lord Jesus Christ Himself).
Jesus said in the Gospel of John 14:6: ... "I am the way, the truth, and the life... NO ONE comes unto the Father, but by me."
If 'good works' could get us into Heaven, then the sacrifice of Christ on the cross was in vain.
The fact that we are not 'good enough' even at our BEST, requires an acceptable sacrifice on our behalf in order to meet the righteous demand of God for pure holiness.
NONE of us have that to offer! But His Son, Jesus Christ did - and He lovingly, freely and WILLINGLY laid down His life on behalf of all mankind.
Of your own free will... accept that truth and ask Christ in faith to be your Savior through confession of your sin and willful repentance from it, and become a child of God and enjoy the eternal benefits of being an heir to His Kingdom, OR..... Don't -

and discover for yourself the poor choice of that decision for all eternity. It's that simple.

Im not worried about eternity, cause lm to busy living in the here and now.

Faithe: So pshalm 53.1 declares that l am a fool and that l do no good...l care for my mother so she doesnt have to go into a home, l help my sister due to curcumstances beyond her control, l help look after an Aunty by ex marriage just because l want to and help others when ever l am able to. I have lost count of how many animals l have rescued either from harm or because they were lost...now lm not patting myself on the back here lm just trying to point out l am not religous but l help when ever and where ever l can. You dont have to be religous to have a kind heart.
I have a question for you:
How does God decide who is worth saving and who isnt?

Well Timothy 2:11-12 declares since you are a woman that you should not try to teach a man and should be silent. Basically Christians believe women are worthless, that or they selectively choose which versus in the bible are to be followed and which are to be ignored. I don't know why they don't rip the pages of the bible they disagree with out laugh

swade777: falconlady.... what a tremendous testimony! Thank you for sharing!!

The ongoing theories of so-called science to disprove the existence of God only supports the very Word of God where it declares in Romans 1:22-25 (Excuse my 'Bible Thumping' here for a moment)....

"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen."

The Bible (once again) in Psalm 53:1 declares... "The FOOL hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good."

It is my personal belief that the main reason people want to eliminate God from existence is because in doing so, they free themselves (mentally) from having to give an account of their choices in life - that down deep inside, they know to be against the very nature of God's Righteousness, Holiness.
In getting rid of God, they free themselves of judgment and accountability for sin. As long as God exists there's the danger of impending judgement.... get rid of God... NO JUDGEMENT!
After awhile... they begin to believe their own lies, which are nothing more than seeds planted by the father of ALL LIES.
Sure glad you know what a Scientific Theory is!
Might be just a little bit more than the Conjecture in your Bible!grin

The one that loves people only by borders? Since people are born out of certain geographical areas, and only some are exposed to certain religions, or are programed at a young age to follow another religion (god knows you weren't programmed like those people who believe such crazy things laugh ) that those are the people that it is OK to damn to hell. Namely the majority of the world's population. The two most populated countries, China, and India, practice other religions and are taught that at a young age.

So basically god thinks it is OK for them to burn in hell with much chance since they were born in another geographical region. rolling on the floor laughing

In absolutely in no way did that even approach to answer my response. In the scope of existence of the known universe a sunrise on this planet is massively insignificant since morning and night horizons exist on all the other several hundred trillion or so planets that we know exist. You made no point what so ever.

I do think a god or creator entity is possible (read my first post on previous page), but you are following a man made version of God that you have drawn definite parameters and meaning to from a man made book that in the scope of history is very recent.

And yes, all those kids that get taught at a young age (programmed IMO, just like christian kids are programmed here) to believe Islam, Zoroastrianism, Judaism, etc... are going to hell. To suffer un-ending pain by the hand of your God. Those are you beliefs, not mine. Those same kids did nothing but be born in a geographic location or to a certain family that taught their kid some crazy crap that is different from your crazy crap. So yes, your God damns people for being born in a different geographic location

I believe in myself and that humanity needs to use it's brain to move forward as a species, not live in antiquated ideologies that have caused suffering and death and hatred for those that are not the same as you.

I believe people need to admit that they don't really know what is true and what isn't and make a conscious effort to find out what is real within our capabilities.

Showing disrespect to someone else's beliefs and giving your own translation as fact?

Really, you believe if everyone had these attitudes, the world would be a much better place?

The quote from Timothy is taken out of context - both content & time period.

All I seem to hear on the national news is Tolerance, Tolerance, Tolerance.... so where is it?

I'm a Christian, and I made several posts to this thread, and was not disrespectful to anyone posting their opinions here, including either of you.

I've said it before and will say it again. Religion was created to keep the masses in line. When a Bishop said something, kings and queens would jump to do it without question.

The only things saying there is a god is a book written by MAN and a bunch of old men living high off the hog using what you dump into the plate at church

tomcatwarne: Well what is the correct quote then ????
The quote itself is close to correct, but it's meaning is taken out of context of the passage it's in, and also the time period.

1 Timothy 2:11-12 - A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.

If you take that the way the poster used it, and without the background that goes with it, wouldn't you would think Christian churches would have no women teachers or preachers?

Yet even here at C.S., there are 2 Christian women pastors that I personally know of... and sure there are more. Anyone ever hear of Joyce Meyers?(If not, just google the name)

Non-Christians are stating what they seem to believe are Christians' beliefs ...and that's their right, I would imagine, in a forum post.

What I dislike about their posts is the total lack of respect for other member's beliefs.

Is what I quoted in my previous post- "If everybody had your attitude to life the world would be a much better place...btw its how l see the world too." and what that post was in reference to - really the way to make the world a much better place - in your opinion... or anyone elses?

P.S.If you want to know more about the meaning the verses, which I don't think you do, but figured you just might ask grin, I don't have the time, but you can research it in an online "concordance" (a list of words used in a body of work, with their immediate contexts)

swade777: There most certainly is a GOD, and regardless if people want to believe it or not, every living soul will face that God either in judgement for eternal damnation, or acceptance into His Eternal Kingdom because of their willful faith in trusting Him and His Only Begotten Son (The Lord Jesus Christ - Who is GOD in the flesh).

Is ETERNITY worth gambling on, when a simple step towards accepting Christ as your personal Lord and Savior in faith is all it takes to change that eternal destination?
amen.
