Frank, I think the kind of "nice " that you are talking about is just kindness that is real and genuine not the kind where the person fears getting people mad at him or her so they go along with anything just to please...I think that is the difference right there.
cafe, Very well said and I think its true that sometimes we can give off a sense of uncertainty or perhaps a "weak character" when we seek to please too much.
Av, It does seem like the closer you get to someone the more you see their good points and their flaws but I guess we have to decide what is most important to us.
Advenger, Yeah, I agree. I think the same goes for guys. I like a nice guy but not to the point where he lets people take advantage of him . Thats not cool
Yeah Belle, I dated a guy like this for a while and I couldn't stand it anymore. I felt like I was in at continuous pep rally or motivational speech. Hed say things like: "life is what you make it" or "well, what have YOU done to cause this" and " you can CHOOSE to be happy"....so I chose to not see him anymore
mary, You and me both! I think that if I were with a guy who was extremely happy and positive all the time I would be tempted to slap him (symbolically of course)
But I do know that she did not have a paying job. I am not saying that makes her a bad person but if someone like me didn't have a paying job, relied solely on my husband for support and then began drinking on top of that ...I do not think I would get much sympathy. all I'm saying.
I want to add that something not many people may know about me is that I work like a man. I use every ounce of strength that I have ....real physical labor is what I have known all my life and you know what? I like it....keeps me strong and on my toes.
Virgo, I don't deliver pies but I do lift between 20 - 70lbs pounds items and goods such as bikes , tables, chairs and old kitchen sinks, gym weights , shelving units...ect that people donate...I do this 8 hours a day.....all day every day .....now what were you saying about my backside??
May I add that there are some pretty awesome guys on this site....I am finding that some of the men on CS have much to offer and there is much more to them than just what we see on the outside. Unfortunately some are in another country or another state but being able to communicate like this lets us know that these kinds of guys are out there.
playdate, I feel like that sometimes too. I say something nice and next thing you know I get shot down...but then I figure, what the heck, someone's got to do it!! and it may as well be me! Great observations BTW....Groovy
