zman So true...being a Boy Scout leader is no longer looked upon the same anymore...many people believe it is to gain access to children to do harm...no one back then wanted to believe that people had bad intentions...
zman It is hard to fathom the shear number of cases involving child exploitation...turning a blind eye due to political correctness or perhaps the unwillingness to get involved...it takes a lot of resources to uncover the truth these days because of the rights of perpetrators...seems unfair to the victims to await justice or to be ignored...
nam I am so old "Hey Nineteen" by Steely Dan, the song, a tribute about youth and the older generation, the song or band was not recognised by my younger co-workers...we have nothing in common...sadder when Lauren Bacall died...they did not know who she was or who Bogart...wtf...
lind Good blog topic...I think jealousy is part of our emotions because of some insecurity either born within ourselves or brought upon us through conversation with the one you love...some people enjoy the act of making one jealous...and sometimes it is just you questioning your worth...as long as it doesn't come from a dark place...jealousy can be healthy in my opinion...I don't consider myself a jealous person but I am not immune to comments meant to damage my self worth...the more negative comments are made on behalf of a loved one...the more jealous you become...then it is time to question the health of the relationship...ending it becomes more clear to you if you take a look at who you have become in that relationship...never easy to leave but for your own psychological health it is something to consider...JMO...
gentle Consider yourself lucky...you know who you are but she obviously didn't or tried to deny her true self...give it time and you will feel better...
lind I was unaware of the earthquake that hit your area until now...reading your blog...hope your okay...Vancouver is supposed to face a major earthquake eventually within the next 10 years...so they say...but I think most people will be unprepared for the event...I just hope I am not working when it happens...I cannot imagine the lives lost or the destruction that will occur. Nature is a beautiful and dangerous force...we have no control over her many storms but we can control ourselves if we want to...but I think greed has taken over and no man thinks about the future anymore...gratification now seems to be the theme...

lind Have you seen the documentary of The Queen And I?...very interesting story of the former empress Farah wife of the former Shaw of Iran...the journalist filming the documentary was one of the many opposed to those Royalists and was a member of the communist party there in Iran...the promises made by the Imam Komeini...forgive my misspelling...that all people from different political ideologies would be free under his reign...that didn't happen as you know...Farah and the journalist both were exiled from Iran...the journalist's brother was hanged and she fled the country to escape a similar fate...interesting how the intellectuals were deceived not just the country people with strong faith towards traditions rather than modernization...religious fanatics have been here for years...sometimes people are swayed by these fanatics perhaps thinking life will be better only to find out they have been duped...the religious fanatics interests is about power and control...I doubt if there will be peace in countries that are run by fanatics...now look at Syria...too much control and corruption equals unrest and uprising...
lind I will be there in Vegas late night in September 18th to the 21st...just a few days but it would be good to meet up if you can...but the trip to Florida sounds lovely!!...have you heard from simmo lately or non?...
lind It would be nice if our loved one has all the ticks checked in the boxes...wealth, good looks and a good disposition...to mention a few traits but I don't think our feelings work that way...at least not mine!!...but I am sure there are people who look for financial stability and learn to love that person?...hope you are well and having a good day!!

Hey lind Sometimes boredom and loneliness converge...so what do we do?...it is tough to be alone sometimes and we do need distractions in life besides work!!...I enter contests on line, my new hobby...and spending time with my sister and niece also a must...perhaps what your feeling is a loss from both emotional and financial perspectives...you cannot look back but plan for the future...I have made some goals for myself and this occupies my thoughts...hope you are doing better...
mony My dad loved to make that soup and made it with lots of dill...he liked to make food from other countries and often we had cooking competitions at home...perhaps that is the reason why I love to travel so much...the food was calling me!!
lind Haven't thought about it before but I am sure it would be a person who has the power to change circumstances globally...Bill Gates would be a good choice as he has the money to effect change...anything from medical research to aiding people from all over the globe from hunger and improving the environment...

I have made reservations at the Flamingo...it is close to the wedding site where I have been invited...will be flying out on the 18th and getting in to Vegas at night...would be great if we could meet!!
