Somehow it happens with everyone when it comes to books. I lost a few initally when they did not return it, then I started noting down who took what and later followed up for the return and finally got them back.
But now either I tell them to read as much in my library or I would gift them one. Only close friends and relatives i mean.
That's a wake up call for many. Real happiness is from within always. Comes from simple joys of life. I agree. Keeping it simple as much as possible. Eat, work, sleep, play, learn, love. That's all where the mundane uproar eventually boils down to.
I'd add one more thing in your list.
Have at least one achievement every day. Be it small or big. Material or Immaterial. Just anything. Start or finish a book, write a will, help somebody, meet an old friend, buy or sell something, make something, plant a tree, achieve a business goal, quit a bad habbit, have a date, sort out your work desk, learn something new, any thing.
And count the achievement of the day before sleeping for the nihgt.
I really wish you a very long, safe, healthy, wealthy and happy life in peace. May you have everything you wish for (personally). So that when you meet God,after death, you have no excuses to give Him.
I think it has more to do with the cultural aspects of "Kiasu" (the fear of losing, or the obsession for success at all costs) and "Kiasi" (The fear of death, or harm) mostly followed by the chinese population of Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Indonesia.
I have personally experienced funny behaviors in these regions due the Kiasu and Kiasi concepts, which I found very interesting. I have seen people overdoing it too. Perhaps, that has cascaded into the preferences of chinese women around you.
So we agree that the angels of freedom (nato/UN) should take care of the madman and do the noble deed of freeing libyan people while not touching the 150 tons of Gold and Oil reserves and leave with gratitude of libyan people?
Only those who are close to us get the opportunity to hurt as we let our guards down for them. Strangers are seldom able to do so. So i think we should blame ourselves for letting them hurt us. No?
I referred to all humans. We tend be unhappy with less and want more and more. And then again are unhappy. Happiness does not rely on haves and havenots. That was my point.
