I know you have a low opinion of Obama, but in most European countries he is seen as a breath of fresh air, we genuinely feel he will get the US stable financially and commercially, the crunch will come if he came then somehow separate commerce from the political arena, something I have doubts anyone can do now as it has become part of the DNA of American politics

Why do you think Italy has suffered less than some European countries? Because the average Italian does not trust a bank and keeps his money under his bed, it is a cash country not Credit card like the US or the UK, the Bankers did not steal "Our" money, but they made huge mistakes regarding loads etc due to becoming so greedy for more and more business, bailing them out was a necessity to my mind, banks, sadly, are still needed in the developed west, had they been allowed to collapse, then thousands would have lost their homes etc through no real fault of their own.

Those jobs were there but, due to greed the majority have lost out to the few, my point was that if Bankers (for want of a better word) had worked regular hours for a regular wage, we would not have this crisis, and, if the average man in the street had been prepared to do the so called menial tasks, then the exploitation of the immigrants would never have happened, immigrants go where there is work available, how many immigrants go to S. Africa, New Zealand etc, very few as they are aware that the indigenous population work all types of jobs.

How easy is it to get a job as an English Teacher? I hope to move to Greece at some time, in fact I want to retire there to maybe Rhodes or Crete, but would like to teach for a few years first.
I have been told that now, due to the crisis, they are no taking on Foreign teachers, even well qualified and experienced ones.

Why 90%? As far as I can see majority of Chinese people are hard working, happy and love their country and culture.

Governments are strange the world over we just have to grin and bear it. Life is good here, especially as the weather has warmed up now, today reached 90 F so I visited a sacred mountain, incredibly interesting, but sadly yet another place now cashing in on making a fast buck, but I managed to chat with an elderly monk and learnt a lot about Buddhism, seems to me that if you want to follow a religion it is the best of the bunch. I may open a thread about it with some pics.

Chinese cigs cost around 50 pence a pack, imported US brand such as Marlboro are around £1.50 that's about 1 dollar US.
I believe that Mr Mao recommended at least two packs a day, and of course as we know Mao was never wrong.

Quite right, CS site has no virus, if it had everyone who accessed it would become infected, virus's are not discriminatory, any host will do!!!
It is far more likely that a virus was picked up elsewhere and started to function as you were browsing the site.
Use Firefox as a browser, it gives better protection and will tell you if a site has suspect pages or in-bedded malware/virus links

Two of my close friends are Australian, one is in Italy the other in Newcastle Aus, now I am in China so almost halfway there, so one day I hope to make it, I would love to visit the barrier reef and Ayers Rock.

Maybe because the greater majority now realise the total fabrication of religion, how religion has caused more death and destruction than any other single source, and that religious fanatics will most likely cause WW3.
The world today is suffering badly not just though natural disasters but also through terrorism, show one piece of evidence that any God has shown some mercy and believe me, the churches will be filled overnight.
Oh and don't quote that God gives man a free choice, because earthquakes are beyond our control, try telling the 600 new orphans in China that God really loves them

I know plenty of people with higher than average intellect but who are socially inept, I also have good friends who have below average Intellect, but whose personality and desire to learn, makes them far more attractive to me.
I think we all, if we are honest, seek specific character traits, these traits are important and enable us to have a fully rounded relationship.
A desire to learn and having a good sense of humour are prerequisites for my future partner, so I agree with the OP, but can also see that the way it was phrased, could lead to misinterpretation, although I now believe that is due to being a non native English speaker, rather than wishing to boast or being snobbish.

You really are doing yourself no favours in trying to get people to believe your views when you post such statements, curry was used in Asia way before the English arrived and then brought back to the UK.

Chines food in the UK is a version of original Chinese food from China, changed to make it more appealing to the discerning customer. However the basic concept is very definitely Chinese not a British invention.

Lavender has a wonderful calming effect, a small bunch of Lavender in a bedroom will usually make the worst insomniac fall asleep, I have used it all my life and it never failed with any of my children, even when they were sick.

No he said that if born in Britain they were British his point is about those born in other counties and then come to England a steal British jobs or sponge off the state.
