I would like to add to this, sorry Molly. But in how people treat and speak to others have changed. Then people wonder why a depressed person withdraws.
I agree with some of the things you have said. Which is why I make the choice what is right for me. As I expect others to do. Faith is personal to each person. But I will not condem or treat people badly because of others actions.
Said, you're wasting your time. Because she has made her decision. I would of liked you to have been able to share your translation of the faith. But, that ship has sailed sadly.
Most of us are aware that no religion is perfect. Which is why I personally make the choice of none and prefer to believe in humanity. Which can be equally testing. Each to their own. But there is bad in all religions and that is the true test of your own faith in my opinion.
Oh I understand it Gal. One of my Grandmother's was a devout Christian. Luckily for me the other was not.
Please don't get me wrong, she was a good woman. She did a lot for her Church and community. I wouldn't knock that. But I don't think forcing people to believe in something actually helps.
There are chemicals that are naturally produced by the body. Norepinephrine functions in the brain and body. It is a natural chemical that acts as a hormome and a neurotransmitter. That sends a singal between the nerve cells that is released into our blood streams when our brains recognise a stressful events. Now imagine you have low levels of the hormone.
Serotonin is again another neurotransmitter that effects the central nervous system and again located in the blood stream and effects our levels of feeling aggitated.
The very reason you function differently than those that suffer with depression. Your body releases those transmitters and hormomes. Now imagine that special kind of hell when your body does not produce these?
So when people are prescribed medication. It's for a reason. No different when your red blood cell count are not functioning to produce Iron. But nobody judges people with an Iron deficiency the same as someone with depression or when they have a thyroid deficiency. They just accept that part of the body doesn't function and needs support.
Do you pity people with other medical issues? Personally I don't. I try and understand how it impacts them and their life.
Like I said, I really don't know what kind of people you are talking too. But mental health has come a long way in helping people understand themselves and those around them. It has invested a lot into public awareness as well.
It does come across cold to me, it also comes across as an attitude of "pull yourself together" you just need to think as I do. If I can sprinkle a little positivity it will help.
The medication is to balance that chemical imbalance. If someone has an iron deficency, they would take iron tablets to balance it out. You have a thyroid issue, you would take thyroxine. Each can cause people to feel a certain way.
RE: Mild to moderate depression.....
