Well, I hesitate to get into the big endless debate on this subject....
But, how does a non-believer interpret the fact that the entire universe was, at one point, a single point in space?
And that today, it is expanding outward from that original point?
So.... what triggered the Big Bang?
And as I wrote earlier, there are and have been supernatural phenomena, or occurrences, that are difficult to explain without accepting the existence of another realm, plain, or dimension.
And so, if that is true, why is it so difficult to accept the existence of The Supreme Creator?
It is logical.
No one can absolutely prove God doesn't exist either, which is kind of strange too in some ways.
And so it goes.
I just think it makes sense to believe. And in my case, given a couple of personal experiences, it is easier for me to believe.
For us to think we can understand or have (really) any expectations of his nature, is to overreach as human beings.
And now, I think I am done on this .... the debate will go on and on.... I know. But I don't have much more I can add.
Why do you contend I have to prove my belief in the existence of God?
Why don't you prove God doesn't exist? It is your claim... you prove it.
And you say you have been trying to tell me God doesn't exist for centuries???
I didn't think you were that old.... and I certainly am not.
I think there is evidence of God's existence all around, and the clues have been all around for centuries.... that God is the creator of the infinite universe....
All kinds of clues, from an expanding universe of galaxies, to various supernatural phenomena that have occurred and continues to occur on earth.... such as apparitions, ESP, premonitions, odd senses regarding re-incarnation as more.
Oddly enough, even the practice of Satanism and the results that occur from Satanic practices do tend to reinforce the belief in a Superior & All Good Infinite Creator of the Universe (God is easier to refer to than all those words)
When I was young teen at home with my other brothers and sisters, twice over a period of a couple years, I witnessed a spiritual being, translucent appearing entity.
And at that time in my life, I was a pretty innocent person.... a virgin, never had tried any drugs, never had been drunk.... pretty pure really. (But I did develop a desire to loose that innocence a few short years later...)
And the apparition only lasted a minute or less each time. I didn't get anything other than the visual. No message, fragrance, anything. And I always wondered why that happened... what was the point. And years later I concluded the point is: THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN MEETS THE EYE.
Don't you feel you have more to you than your body? Don't you feel there is a spirit in you, that could go on in some fashion after your body dies?
The reason we are here (I think) is to seek God, and in doing so, for our spirits learn to control our bodies.
Our Spirits must learn to rule our bodies, because our Spirits CAN live forever. They actually may or may not (I suspect), but the possibility exists (I believe) that they can... if we take advantage of the opportunities we have during this life.
We are here, and given a chance to take the Chance.
How can any of us comprehend the power that created the infinite?
He is incomprehensible, ya know?
Tip his hand a bit???
Yup. I think he does that quite a bit....
Look around... in the billions and billions and billions of years earth and the universe have existed.... what we see on earth today is not normal is it.
I could also take the same position as you and argue that your disbelief in God is a fiction you hold. That proof of God is all around us.
That science recognizing the fact that the universe is expanding and therefore began with a Big Bang from a single point shows the likely hood of a creator or a God.
So, if you deny that, you are living in a fictional world.
Your 'assurance' is really just as hollow as you perceive a person's faith in God is foolish.
Faith is defined as the belief in something that cannot be proven.
The point is, the existence of God cannot be proven or dis proven at this point, by anyone.
I believe God is loving and gives us a free choice to believe in him or not. And if he appeared or proved his existence to you, that very act would take away your freedom to choose. And love does not force things. Love lets the loved one choose freely.
Pretty simple actually.
When I meet God, I am thinking I will be asking him to have mercy on me.
I think a person could argue that the Taliban has succeeded in taming Afghanistan.
Of course they do it by forcing the general population to capitulate to their agenda through violence, intimidation, and fear. Sort of like organized crime.
Speaking of which, the Taliban funds their violence with Heroin sales, which puts them on an equal footing with Organized Crime, doesn't it Dude.
I think the term "War on Terror" is basically incorrect....
I think a more accurate term would be the "War against Jihad-ism" because that is really what we are fighting....
Radical Muslims have declared war on the West..... it is obvious,
The US has had several Jihadists attack the American people in recent months, and so have other 'Western" nations had their people attacked in the recent past.
So... this is a real war, a new type of war, and a war that must be fought, if the West is to survive.
And if the West does not have the courage and will to fight it, then it is logical to foresee the collapse of the West, and the emergence of Fundamentalist Islam where the West once existed.
What about her is so scary?? She is just a down to earth lady.... Smart enough to be a Governor, but made to look stupid by a very corrupt liberal media.
It should scare you more how the media thinks they should manipulate and control you, because they are more wise than you, and they will decide what you need to know and how you should view things, people and events..... like Sarah Palin.
They did, and are still trying, to do a character assassination on her.
As you said in an earlier thread, her position on Fox is going to interesting....
Damn right it is going to be interesting... I imagine she is going to come right back on the stinking liberal media, and give them a big dose of their own fricking medicine.
Then the world will clearly see just how savvy Ms Palin truly is. When she is not being led around by a mean stupid and disloyal campaign manager.
RE: The Blues
This is another rendition of Martina McBrides's song anyway.....
