True we didn't freely decide to divide Ireland. The thing is though, if you have one part of the country determined to be independent and the other part determined to stay in Britain then what result is there going to be except division and partition? It was kinda inevitable wasn't it?
The Brit Empire is long gone and so are the people who ran it, why blame the present British people for what their ancestors did? Would you like to be blamed for something your ancestors did and for which you have no responsibility?
No, but Adams and McGuinness get received in the White House by the American President!
The cost of 8 million may seem a lot but you can't buy the sort of positive publicity this will get. The Queen is the number 1 tourist attraction in Britain, where she goes thousands of people follow. There is a huge potential tourist market in the UK that we've never really tapped into.
And while we (rightly) remember the Guildford Four and Birmingham Six lets not forget the victims of the Guildford and Birmingham bombs, people who nobody seems to make a fuss off!
The queen's uncle (Mountbatten) was also murdered by the IRA, but that doesn't stop her coming here, if she has things to apologise to us for then let's not forget that we have things to apologise to her for!
I was being a bit provocative because I've given up trying to reason with him!
What you say about half the population there is true, though the other half wouldn't agree. The Good Friday Agreement provides that both identities are of equal value, Irish and British, that's the point I was really trying to make, but as I've said, you can't reason with unreason!
The British aren't 'in' your country, Northern Ireland is British. GG isn't in your country either, he's in the Republic of Ireland (which is most definitely not your country).
Britain and France have launched attacks on targets in Libya. Gaddafi has responded by threatening to attack civilian and military targets in Meditteranean countries.
RE: Queen of England visit to Dublin should it go ahead
