Yeah, if there was a united Ireland we could give the north a few billion per year no problem, after all we have more money down here than we know what to do with!
Absolutely they're not concerned! I was being sarcastic! The Brits don't give a damn about the North one way or another. Republicans can't accept the fact that the people of the North don't want to join with us down here so they blame the Brits instead, in particular groups like MI5. Republicans live in a dream world because they don't want to face up to reality, that a united Ireland is not feasable.
Unfortunately it's very hard to deal with people who demand 'Brits out' and won't settle for anything less and won't listen to the people they claim they represent.
Do you remember Leslie Dowdell of In Tua Nua? she did a tour with Mike Hanrahan (Stockton's Wing) a couple of years' ago, saw them in Galway, not great to be honest but oh boy is she still hot!!!
Thanks for that Blarney, the best gig I was ever at was a Scullion reunion gig in Galway about 10 years ago. The place was packed to the rafters and Scullion knew they were among friends and really let it rip!
When I walked into the place I saw a group of English hippies who live in the wilds of Connamara and only come into Galway for special occasions, when I saw them I knew it was going to be a good night!
