Buy the shoes naturally, you can always skimp on something like food for the rest of the month!
As for the job, well if she's your best friend you should be able to tell her you're going to apply too shouldn't you?
Guilt doesn't stop me from doing something I want to do but it has occasionally made me do things I don't want to! Like tonight for example, a lonely Lebanese male, neighbour who speaks English and no Russian, like me, has been asking me to have dinner with him (as friends of course) for over a week and I've been making excuses. I feel guilty, or is it guilt, or do I just feel sorry for him? I'm not sure, but anyway, think I may have to agree before he leaves Russia next week otherwise he's going to think English ladies are very anti-social.
I think profile preferences are written as a starting point, but most of us are willing to be flexible.
It's very difficult to come up with a shopping list of what you may be looking for in a potential partner, and I bet many of us have had relationships with the exact opposite of who we think we're looking for.
Anyhow, who reads profiles? Most of the interest I receive is from men poles apart from the preferences I eventually chose for my profile!
I'm sorry you're feeling so sad, but I ask myself, what was this situation of yours which meant you couldn't commit for four years? Were or are you married?
Four years was a long time for your lady friend to wait, I'm not surprised she decided to leave.
It's likely that she still loves you but no longer wants to waste time waiting for you to be ready.
Yes you're right Pearl. Some of us, me included may maintain that advertising doesn't influence us, but it does, albeit subconsciously.
Advertising people are very clever, even colour or a well thought up name has an effect on us and makes us remember certain brands.
Christmas is approaching, and the little kiddy consumers are already being bombarded by advertisements for the latest toy, striking fear into the hearts of their parents.
Yes I agree with you, Russia is huge. I'm in Kolumna, Moscow region, but I travel to see my teachers in Volsk in the Saratova region too. They are bored out of their minds working there as there is absolutely no nightlife. and I suspect won't want to come back in March to renew their contracts for a further three months.
Moscow city, I have to say, disappointed me when I visited. Of course it was wonderful to stand in Red Square and see the Bolshoi theatre etc, but I found the city much less vibrant than other major capital cities in the est of the world, like London, Paris, Madrid etc.
Once upon a time a prince joined CS in the hope of finding his princess.
After a few weeks he realised that there were too many ugly sisters and his princess was not to be found. What he didn't know was that his princess was there, waiting in the background but afraid to show herself in case she was hounded away by the ugly sisters and evil men.
One day she bravely decided to send a private message and he, being the gentleman he was, replied and a 10 year correspondence ensued.
In the meantime she, having become like the ugly sisters, flirted on the forums and wrote to other princes. He too wasn't averse to accepting the attention of other princesses and ugly sisters.
They finally decided to declare their undying love for each other to the world and he, being the gentleman he was, travelled through continents to be with his princess.
Everybody congratulated the happy couple and wished it was them.
A week later both reappeared on the forums full of venom and hatred, dividing the rest of the princes. princesses, ugly sisters and evil men. Mayhem ensued and both were banned from the kingdom of CS. taking many others with them
Alas, no happy ending, but don't be sad, both are happily participating in the kingdom of CS under disguise.
Interestingly, some commentaries suggest that the King was angry because Chavez called Aznar a fascist and this hit a nerve, as it may have been an indirect criticism of Franco.
I don't think so, and I'm pleased with the new bill which for the first time condemns the Franco dictatorship. If it is passed, funds will be made available to unearth mass graves from the Civil War and all statues, plaques etc related to the Franco era will be removed.
Did you read about or, even better, see King Juan Carlos saying Por que no te callas?" (why don't you shut up) to President Chavez of Venezuela at the Ibero-American summit?
I found it very amusing, not least because it's unusual to see royalty forget decorum in such a way.
Those of you who know me, are aware that I'm English but live and work in Spain (except now because I'm in Russia working for a while) and I am totally in love with Spain, so, I think I can make a comment about both the King and the Queen of England who I believe has never spoken in such a manner in public.
What do you think? Is it wrong for royalty to show their annoyance in public like the King of Spain did?
Chavez had a lot to say after the meeting about the fact that HE had been elected by his people, yet the King had not, therefore had no right to speak to him in such a way.
Ok wiseguy, as you're not asking for once I'll try to tell you.
Please bear in mind that I'm only a visitor to Russia though so Koninsberg may be better qualified to help you.
Russian tv is terrible, except the news, vodka is very very cheap and there are many unemployed people with not much else to do but drink. Most of the people I know got to the Black Sea for their holidays because it's very difficult getting visas to leave Russia. Salaries are very low, some of my adult students who have relatively well paid jobs take home less than £400 per month, and they work long hours, often without overtime pay. The flats and houses are very old and delapidated in the most part, but there does seem to be some construction work here and there.
I'm working in an industrial town, quite 'backward' in many ways and I've never seen a black or asian person. Come to think of it, when I visited Moscow I didn't see any black people there either. Lots of Germans though!
No I never feel sorry for myself.......except when I'm ill. Remember though that even if you have a partner there's no guarantee you'll get what you need! But, I agree, that's when everybody needs a bit of TLC, and we start thinking, god if I die I'm all alone and nobody will know for ages! They are going to find an old stinking corpse.......
RE: So, what is everyone doing for Christmas?
First, (if they let me out of Russia!) see my beloved family in the UK, then home to Spain with my beautiful friends. Can't wait!
