RE: WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO?

St Petersburg.

Now that I'm working in Russia part of the year I should be able to realise my dream. It's around 5 hours away from where I work near Moscow so I couldn't make it last time I was there, but this time I'll have more free time to explore this vast country.

RE: Wishing you all

Have a lovely Christmas Lorraine.

RE: tell us your life story thread !..the thread for people thats got a lot to say about themselves

Hi Gilly, well, not very interesting compared to some stories I've read but here goes.

Brought up in Liverpool, happy childhood with 2 brothers and 1 sister, dad was a professional boxer and often away from home. Mum always worked, so I was often the carer for my younger siblings. They divorced just before my wedding day, sad but inevitable.

I met my ex husband at 16, married at 18, had our daughter when I was just 20 and my son at 21. Lots of grotty part-time jobs while the kids were young, went back to college, then university to gain the further education I missed due to marrying so young. Ended up as a tax inspector for many years then a civil service trainer which set me on the road to teaching. I resigned from the civil service after they had kindly given me 3 career breaks to travel and teach and refused to give me any more! I worked in Turkey, Poland, Portugal and Spain. Teachers have good holidays so my husband and I were together during this time, either when I returned to the UK or he travelled to see me. Actually we probably talked more than we'd ever done during those years and learned a lot more about each other.

However, due to this learning process, husband and I divorced after 23 years, then remarried a year later! Big mistake, so we divorced again quite quickly, I went back to Spain to teach again and stayed. Met a Spanish man who turned out be the most jealous man on the planet and I still have problems with him now even though I have a restraining order! But that's a long, story so I won't go into all that.

I was offered a job in Russia this year and now I work in both countries but Spain is my home.

I think I've had a good life so far, my ex husband and I are still friends, my kids have never given me any real trouble, I mean drugs etc, and I've made great friends all over the world.

Oh and my mum, her partner, my kids and my lovely elderly but lonely neighbour will be sharing Xmas lunch here in my little flat in Spain in a couple of days.

Did I bore you?

RE: signs your getting old.

Smoky you look heaps better in a bikini than many 20 year olds!

Age on CS is a dealbreaker despite what many guys say, (or think they should say), in the real world I don't find it an issue at all.

Unless your reaaaally old and then you do become invisible, very sad.

RE: Has this happened to anyone else over 45 ?

Me too, I couldn't live without my music. I use it a lot when I'm teaching too, makes learning English fun.

Maybe it's a male thing?

dunno

RE: Hey everyone

What's the matter Daniel?

Maybe if you open up a little more we can offer some constructive advice rather than chin up, tomorrow is another day, etc etc etc.

Sometimes humour is the best medicine.

JMHO.

christmas happy

RE: what do you do

Oh don't take things so seriously!

Of course we don't despise all men.....just that some women have had experience with this kind of thing. I posted because my daughter has experienced something similar very recently and it was hurtful to say the very least.

We had to keep our senses of humour intact when you and Ray were insulting our intelligence a few days ago didn't we?

Problems with e-cards?

Now two people I've sent them to haven't received them yet they are sitting in my outbox as unopened? Others I've sent have been received and opened.

Maybe I'll just try and send them again.

RE: If you're wondering about the pic ?

Jan is leaving, I've been neglected by you two all night, but no worries, there's a nice young Cuban guy over there waiting to take me home. He's the one who's been buying my mojitos and dancing with me all evening whilst you two have been flirting with every lady in the club!

Byeeee!

RE: If you're wondering about the pic ?

Ready Leo?

A rumba, slow, sensuous and romantic just as you like it!

RE: If you're wondering about the pic ?

We're in the Cuban club remember?

Mojito, rum cocktail...I'll have a ciggy with you. Can I have one of yours though, these Russian duty free ciggies are too strong.

Leo, salsa dance 5 minutes ok?

RE: If you're wondering about the pic ?

Still here with my mojito waiting for a dance?

RE: If you're wondering about the pic ?

Right lets go. There's a great Cuban club nearby, we could partake in a few mojitos and salsa dance the night away.
