don't have the patience anymore....

Thankyou sweet man! I have enjoyed reading your posts.

Best wishes.

don't have the patience anymore....

....to sift through threads and posts to find something intelligent to respond to. It's becoming too time consuming and boring. I post here and on the International Forum, the latter being worse I have to say, and I don't have the patience anymore to pretend to be interested in some of the rubbish posted.

Sorry, and I don't want to offend anybody but I have come to the conclusion that most members have serious psychological problems which I cannot relate to, so, I'm going to say goodbye to everybody here on the European forum and wish all of you well.

I am happy to write to anybody who would like to continue to keep in touch, so my profile will be open for a few more days and perhaps we can exchange private e-mail addresses.

RE: a man in uniform... do women really dig it???????

Without quoting the post it's difficult to know who you are talking to but I assume it's me.

You haven't offended me in the slightest, I was just trying to help you understand that it's not your job or uniform, as you constantly refer to in your threads and blogs, that causes problems in meeting somebody.

Good luck.

RE: coffee

Cafe solo americano descafeinado.

In English, black decaffeinated with extra water.

RE: does any one like the scottish accent??

Glaswegian no, sooooooooooo difficult to comprehend, but people in Edinburgh have a lovely fine Scottish accent.

RE: a man in uniform... do women really dig it???????

I have read NUMEROUS threads of yours and at least two BLOGS with various but similar titles, all bemoaning the fact that you can't find a girl because you are in the navy.

Rubbish, the fact is that you appear very immature and you are blaming your job and uniform for your loneliness at the moment.

You are young, don't be impatient but think about reasons other than your job for having bad luck with the ladies.

RE: ARE OLDER PEOPLE BETTER LOVERS

Well a year ago I would have said no, but having met an almost 60 year old who is the best and INSISTENT lover I have ever had, I have to change my opinion. blushing

RE: Welcome to Cyba's bar...........ALL WELCOME.......

ahaaaaah now you've noticed me sitting all alone in the corner!

Smoky is busy, Wed is probably in bed, Travel Dread, no idea.

I've had a great night at a carnival, got chatted up by Mickey Mouse, but faceless like many of the profiles here on CS, and popped in here just to find you two love birds!

Will you two get a room, this bar is becoming uncomfortable for outsiders!!! laugh

RE: Ex pats in spain

Hi Tina, I am English and have lived in Spain for almost 3 years but I HATE the term ex-pat. I live in Murcia city centre and there are no British people so I have integrated fully into the Spanish way of life and made many Spanish friends.

If you are moving to an exclusively ex-pat area all I will say is PLEASE try to make SPANISH friends and learn the language. There are too many ex-pats taking over areas in Spain and expecting everything to be exactly like Britain, with sun.

The International Forum is fun but you may find more friends on the European Forum, there are more members who live in Spain posting there.

RE: House husband.

I didn't intend to offend you and you are obviously coping just fine bringing up your kids alone.

I think though you simply had the bad luck to have a LAZY ex husband. There are no man or woman 'things' as you put it, many women can fix a car but can't cook, likewise there are men who are great cooks yet are unable to attempt DIY.

My last serious boyfriend did all the cooking, shopping, cleaning and worked, but DIY or such like, he didn't have a clue and would rather pay somebody else to do it. I worked longer hours than he did and finished much later so he had no problem doing those things.

Gender based roles should be a thing of the past.

RE: in spanish, if somebody can transladate to english, french, german!!! thanks

Le Shoes, I don't know about the French and German translations, but the Spanish to English is terrible. Did you use one of those free internet translating sites? They are very unreliable and most of what comes out is gobbledygook.

Hope the OP didn't intend to use it for anything.

RE: Sport v school

Intelligence, but the two can go hand in hand sometimes can't they? No wait, I've just listened to a tv interview with David Beckham so perhaps not!

Burning of the Sardine

The climax of the fiestas during Holy Week is The Burial or Burning of the Sardine, (Entierro de la Sardina) which is held this evening. It's a wonderful, colourful and very noisy parade with fireworks, dancers, puppeteers, and free toys are thrown from the many floats to the thousands of children lining the streets.

The last will and testament of Dona Sardina is read from the balcony of the Town Hall and the party goes on until the early hours, culminating in the burning of a giant sardine effigy.

What strange or interesting fiestas are celebrated where you live?

RE: Re loved

Yes I did interprete your previous post incorrectly. I apologise and agree that discussion is healthy in any relationship.

RE: Re loved

How can you believe in 'any' relationship? What about the people who are physically or mentally abused daily by their spouses, children who are beaten regularly behind the closed doors of a 'safe' family environment?

No relationship should be based on fear.

RE: Welcome to Cyba's bar...........ALL WELCOME.......

I'm here for one more, salud!. This bar is not renowned for late night drinking, actually most people seem to be here at the oddest hours!

RE: Good or bad choice for "disability" profile word.

Good news is always welcome here. handshake

RE: posting of threads

Of course we all have the right to contribute, the problem is that one person's idea of harmless fun may not be the same as another person's.

It's very easy to unintentionally offend on CS, some people wisely ignore it, others don't have the patience and feel the need to respond, particularly if it's a topic they feel strongly about.

We discuss practically everything here and we are all very different individuals therefore there are bound to be disagreements.

RE: Jelious O rJust Lonely?

Sorry I'm confused. Do you mean jealous? And if so, I don't see the connection. confused

RE: Can depression become comfortable?

Hi Cristina. I may be wrong but I think what you are talking about are people who use depression as a means of avoiding work for example. Clinical depression is a serious condition and shouldn't be taken lightly, but unfortunately it has become a 'popular' disease and many people claim they have it when in fact they are feeling temporarily low or worse, just downright lazy.

What worries me most is the increasing number of parents who are convinced their children are depressed, perhaps because they are not achieving well at school or behaving badly. They seek counselling for their darlings and feed them dangerous medication. This can perpetuate a long term obsession with mental health and reliance on drugs.

RE: Zodiac Compatibility

Thank you. Capricorn I've tried, worst experience of my life with an insanely jealous man, so I don't think I have too much faith in the concept of zodiac compatibiity.

RE: You don't know what to do? Till how long?

If someone is not happy with their career or perhaps has not chosen wisely, it's never too late to change. I studied economics and finance and had a long career as a tax inspector until, at the age of 39, I went back to university which enabled me to travel and teach English in many countries.

I continue to do so here in Spain and have never been happier.

It's true though that you have to be decisive and a little brave to make such decisions.

RE: Zodiac Compatibility

No I don't believe in it at all....just out of curiosity, who is my ideal partner?? I'm Taurus/Tiger.laugh

RE: love

Watch it, I think I'm starting to like you! No, on second thoughts....laugh

And Winston, we know why you write the way you do but, and I've told you this before, without punctuation or structure, it can be very difficult and time consuming to comprehend what you are writing sometimes. Worse, it can alter the whole meaning of what you are trying to say which results in people misunderstanding your posts. professor

RE: love

I was referring to your words about the steely heart, for which I gave you the thumbs up, not your declaration of love to Wedward!

RE: Really Name.....

Hi, I'm Janis, Jan to family and friends.

RE: Today is Friday the 13th!

Hi good to see you too!

Not sure about the reason, but it's the same day in Greece(think that is linked to the day Constantinople fell) and other Latin countries. The unlucky day in Italy is Friday 17th!

There is a Spanish proverb, "En martes, ni te cases, ni te embarques, ni de tu familia te apartes" (On Tuesday, neither get married nor start a journey, or be separated from your family).
