I viewed a room to share on friday evening that blew my mind away, it was an old council house that has the mortgage paid off decades ago and they were looking E500 every 4 weeks...the bloody room had fungus all over it!! And there were 3 others sharing paying the same money, its not just the Government that are ripping people of here, its the landlords

God you are I know family memebers who are commuting to dublin and it can take them up to 4 hrs due to the traffic to get to work each day. By the time they get home its ends up anothers days work

Well Maggie what was it like trawling through Dublin helping a friend find somewhere to stay?

To be honest, it was down right shocking to see the dives that people were expected to pay serious money for And for some of the landlords, they left a lot to be desired I can tell ya.

Why, whats up with the landlords?

They only want tenants for 6 months , how is a person supposed to create a life for themselves when its not possible to get a mortgage cos of all the moving around people have to do. The banks dont want to know unless you have an address for 12 months or more, so what is a person suppposed to do

At the moment I am helping a friend to find a place to live along the Green Luas Line. I cant believe some of the places that are available and the incredible prices that people are prepared to pay!
It's astonishing how much Dublin has boomed over the years that a room to share in a house costs as much as a mortgage!
Any thoughts from those who commute on a daily basis due to the high cost of renting or from those who have manage to find a place that is habitable to live in, on the subject, also any advice

even I dont know what to think anymore, sometimes a person says one thing yet it can mean another I have been told that I can be an "innocent" regarding double talk thats why I wanted to have it clarified
