Films /mini-series can be useful in getting you into reading books that you may not have thought you would enjoy, or may never have heard about, like some of the classics - Pride & Prejudice etc.
Or sometimes they just make life easier! For example I love seeing a good stage production of Shakespeare. But I would be hard pushed to actually read one (now that I don't have to do it for the Leaving Cert anymore!)
Spain would appeal all referee decisions, but then just go for a vino and a siesta and forget all about it, whilst England walks away with Gibraltar under its arm.
