The primary point of contention among believers and non-believers alike is one of semantics. Do I believe there is an underlying order to the universe that surpasses human comprehension? Yes. Do I believe it is the force of creation? Yes. Do I believe it is sentient, intelligent and compassionate? No, not by our definitions of those words.
Life IS. The World, and the Universe, ARE. To deny that totality as one involving the concept of eternal construction and destruction in an infinite balance would be absurd. God is a word that evokes fear, awe, and love for some. So, to me, is Nature. They are one and the same to me.
People take this thing way too seriously. People can only mess with you if you let them. In order to do that, you have to care. I don't care one way or the other. I have a life. I came onto this board to do one thing, and I did it. Anything else, well, who really gives a crap?
Deep blue skies The color of your eyes, Sunshine and rainbows, Mad in love, I know, Our time was brief And deep blue grief Waiting, once more, For the return of Love, and light, And laughter.
Your eyes are sapphires Gems with a soul, The jewelry of mystery The deep blue of still lakes A mountain tarn in summer, Filled with secret sadness Melancholy transformed By my loving, adoring touch.
Deep blue skies The color of your eyes, Sunshine and rainbows, Mad in love, I know, Our time was brief And deep blue grief Waiting, once more, For the return of Love, and light, And laughter.
There is meaning In everything. A shy, sad smile That flashes, I want to wash Away your tears, Hold you close, And soothe your heart. Deep blue eyes And love, Seeping from below.
Deep blue skies The color of your eyes, Sunshine and rainbows, Mad in love, I know, Our time was brief And deep blue grief Waiting, once more, For the return of Love, and light, And laughter.
You blessed me with Your smile and kiss Its your touch that I miss Morning sunshine Shining on your face, Blessed morning, Blessed grace.
It's amazing what Your eyes pull From my heart These words, These feelings, You are the grace Shining in my art.
You blessed me with Your time and love I can feel your heart Afar, the wings of a dove Morning sunshine, Shining on your tears I want to kiss you And soothe all your fears
Oh I'm not against hospice E. They are angels. Unfortunately, they ARE angels of death. And I've dealt with far too much of it in my life. There are nurses here that I know and love, but can't talk to because of what we went through together. When its my time, I know who to call, but until then, I let them do their job and go about the business of living.
I've dealt with hospice more times than I care to count. I unfortunately know far too many of the ways they comfort the terminally ill. It's not something I like to talk about seriously so if I make jokes and you don't like it, tough.
I think people follow their instincts where love is concerned, and our instincts are shaped through classical conditioning, ergo Pavlov's dog, and are passive-aggressive in nature.
Operant conditioning on the other hand, is the attempt on the part of an individual (e.g. a therapist) to perform behavior modification in a participatory capacity with the subject, using our intuitive capacities and an active role in our own therapy.
We are most definitely creatures of habit, most often bad ones, and unless those habits are broken, we will never find happiness. To identify those habits most often requires a second party's objective analysis of our feelings and motivations in an authoritative capacity. Otherwise, we'll never do what it actually takes to make real change.
RE: do you believe in God but not in religion? ie.. not the God of churches.
