Thread title - origins of Adam.......... two ways people know this stuff, they either believe the bible or they dont, both sides explain their reasons - then theres you.........
It may have been out of frustration 'if' that was the case. Englishman tried pointing things out to you nicely a page or two ago but you just keep coming back with meaningless drivel and never a scrap of evidence to support your inanities.....
We already have the solution Bernard. The religious rulers made it punishable by death to question whatever they said so parents brought up their children to believe as a matter for their safety. Things have now changed and people question openly so accordingly, religion is only new meeting with the ridicule it deserved all along.
Ive found a place where they just put you in a bag in a pit, unconsecrated ground too which is eventually turned into wildlife meadows - I like the sound of that
I think you're another potential recruit for the pantheists Boban - personally I quite like the idea except for the fact they use the word God - I dont like the biblical association with that word........
One of the earliest archaeological finds evidencing disease is from roughly 2 to 2 and a half million years ago (a bit more than 6000) and is a form of brucellocis
v15 The *Lord God took the man. And he put the man in the garden that was in Eden. God told the man to work with the soil in the garden. God told him to take care of the garden. v16 The *Lord God gave these orders to Adam. ‘You can eat from all the other trees in the garden. You can eat from them as much fruit as you want. v17 But you must not eat fruit from the tree that makes you know right things and wrong things. You will die on the day when you eat that fruit. That is why you must not eat it.’
Its a bit inconsistent then to be told that Adam lived till he was 930 yrs old
In Genesis 5:3-5 it says..
"When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth."
After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died."
Yep, the Sumerian myths were often transcribed into the Bible, much like the old and new testaments we have now - the Sumerian version of the Adam and Eve story is polytheistic though which is why it needed to be rewritten.
Not enough people have! Some of his stuff is really bizarre but it makes a lot more sense to me than some magic man in the sky making us out of earth and ribs n stuff - thats just primitive explanations from before the time we had science - none of us know for sure and those that claim they do only look stupid cos they still cant produce evidence for their god let alone his supposed 6 days work 6000 years ago - the whole notion is preposterous in the light of fossil evidence at least 35 million years old.
The geometrics are indeed more than very interesting to me and I believe knowledge of them is integral to existence itself, more, they 'are' existence itself........
Ive no problems with latin as I did it in primary school, Im just a bit rusty but will polish it for the occasion (via online translators )
The book bit is easy, Ill just get a copy of the Maleus Maleficarum and ring a handbell whilst making some obscure sign with a lighted candle over said book accusing them of unprecedented evil - job sorted
The main person who took offense had no qualms about disrespecting Irish women in another thread the other day - if he wants respect I suggest he earns it instead of this age old rubbish of thinking its anybodies right.
Its already happening Steve! My grandson is taking his A levels at the moment and he has been bombarding me with questions about all religions - I think its a wonderful idea to teach them all instead of concentrating on the dogmatic aspects of only one.
