Oh Im glad you showed up - Ive just been reading some similar research by one of Feynmans students and I have reached the same conclusion - it is an excellent read but proves nothing

Hiya Potter I often say that too - if God actually 'is' it would be apparent to all - but it isnt or we would still be worshiping the trees and other aspects of nature instead, we get duped with tithings and pennances and kiddie fiddlers - its corrupt to the extreme...

It may well have been produced, none of it has yet been accepted, check out the Randi Foundation site, they offer a reward for substantiated evidence.

She will have to tread extremely carefully but so will her oppressors, the eyes of the world are on them - not that they care about that obviously or there wouldnt be so many martyred monks - as she said herself, she was lucky to have only been under house arrest, thousands of others have either paid with their lives or are languishing in primitive prison conditions - something has to give, the more the people are oppressed, the more social unrest bubbles up to the surface - Im pretty frightened for those people right now and hope theres a peaceful solution to be found somehow.....

I think they are backtracking on lots of their 'word of God' stuff already - a while back they removed some of the saints from the liturgy, now tell me, where does that leave papal infallibility

I ended up doing the same too - Id tell Dad that Id go to late mass instead of going with the family and go to the park instead - its a shame really cos the church is a great feeling of safety - Id love to think there was always somebody looking out for me too but if that somebody was the same person who consigned people to hell and damnation for not believing in him then I really wouldnt want to know - whats that saying about holding someone close to you with an open palm and not a clenched fist?

I disagree. Logically speaking, if somebody comes along to you and says they believe theres a god who answers prayers and any other number or marvelous achievements, it is only logical to ask for proof of this wondrous claim - since no proof is satisfactorily forthcoming, the only conclusion is that somewhere along the line, the person making the claim has either been duped or lost the power of reason - many offerings of proof have been made but all discounted as fallacies in one way or another - the only way there is a god is if one has faith and cherishes that faith against growing amounts of reason.

Theres nothing pseudo about it. An intellectual is simply a person who uses their natural talents for questioning evidence as opposed to accepting anything on faith alone - to my mind its the only way to be - logical....

This question has been pretty inflammable in the past but this time its pretty tame so far

Im hopeless at the more flirty type threads, usually by the time Ive come up with a comment the thread has moved on six pages or so - with this type of question I can be a bit more leisurely

eeeek, you just set me to locking all the doors and finding my can of mace - we dont allow no obscene literature in this house actually, i think there is a bible somewhere its probably behind the Dawkins and Dennett stuff - as for extorting dosh from my meager coffers you have about as much hope of that as of converting me

Yes, I just hope it lasts this time - she is due to speak to her supporters at the party headquarters tomorrow, I dont know a time sorry. Have a watch of the news the pictures are amazing, she is the epitome of womanhood in my eyes - I do hope she stays safe
