Have you never stopped to consider they may be spinning you a yarn? Many males would have you believe they are the victim while they essentially are the scumbags - I do hasten to add not all...

Personally I prefer a man who isnt afraid of intelligence in a woman, a man who can hold me to him with an open hand rather than a clenched fist........ a man who has the confidence to know that I love him for who he is, not for how downtrodden he keeps me or for how cowed down I am by fear

Faith is belief without proof Boban - reason is what Im into, big difference - faith doesnt allow for questions and that simply is not my cup of tea.... you can only question people who adhere to your own faith within religion, to do otherwise is considered folly and not encouraged unless, like the JW's you do so in a secure setting....

If Creationism was true then why use all the fear tactics etc to reinforce the good behaviour? "Fear of the lord" ring any bells? I didnt actually learn about Darwin till after I left Catholic school, its a cert to cause rebelion if knowledge is with held from people, they will begin to ask questions and this introduces the basic elements of reason into a faith dominated system - its destined for failure now that the bottleneck of control has been opened........

Im actually not going to give this matter much more of my time tonight, its just that Ive noticed quite a lot of these threads of late and I would dearly love to get into doing some of them again, so Im just getting a bit of practice in, my typing skills are getting rusty

If god had created man the knowledge needed to care for the creation would have been known to us long since, instead, we have had to wait for the sciences to catch up to that stone age manual of judgmentalism, the bible - even as an historical document that book is pretty worthless, the version currently approved was entirely dictated by Constantine and his band of paid bishops at the first council of nicea in 325

At best Christianity is an early cut n paste job and at worst, a sinister amalgum of horrors designed to control the masses...... either way, man created it - a bit of both of the former.....

Ive figured that what people say about you is more of a reflection of themselves, how they think and perceive, than it is about the object of their derision - but if theyre saying nice things then yeah, of course they are totally right

Theres a bit of misleading info at the top of the page though, it says "Decorating trees for Christmas dates all the way back to the 15th century" but that tradition goes back way further than the 15thC and way further back than Christianity too. Its all to do with the Winter Solstice on the shortest day of the year.

Im a regular at another site where it works really well Jan - theres a degree of secrecy and a lot of trust employed which is I think how it works so well.

I think anything would be worth a try rather than lose the forums though

I wish they would consider a few volunteer moderators from amongst us lot - it works on other sites we could take some of the heat off them - they wouldnt have to worry then and could have the best of both worlds - its at least worth a try before giving up on the forums completely....

Ive actually taken a bit of time out the last couple of weeks cos I felt bullied - Ive dealt with it myself and am back - hopefully to a more congenial atmosphere
