I disabled the feature not long after I registered with the site.
For some it seems like a numbers game...how many "friends" can I collect and show the world. It can cause issues for some, seeing WHO is on their friends list, and rather than attract someone new to chat to, it actually turns people away.
I just don't see the point in it, unless you are wanting to appear the Mr/Ms Popular to the world. I can see one advantage in it, if you are seriously contemplating or are in a relationship with someone. Other than that, I don't see the point in it.
It's like the rating pics and comments features....just silly.
I enjoy baking myself, but don't get much time for it these days.
I make a "to die for" chocolate cake.
Cooking is quick, tasty meals like butter chicken and rice, a big helping of nachos with dollops of sour cream....the emphasis on quick. I enjoy casseroles also where I throw all meat and veges in to slow cook, but with the weather getting warmer here, I'm looking forward to salads again.
I took your post literally. I do think true happiness is what we all strive for. I'm probably not the best person to speak with on the subject either. Personal circumstances beyond our control can often dictate how much or little joy we derive from the world.
I'm a grumpy old cow at the best of times. I can only take things day by day and it's the simple things, presently, that make me smile.....and Mimi's cupcakes.
True state of happiness or love is a rarity, and we are all running around stressed out trying to attain it, forgetting to enjoy those simple things in life along the way.
It's the "heading in that direction" at a comfortable pace which is the most pleasurable.
We could go round in circles all evening Skip on this one.
Each person's pain tolerance, for example, differs to the next.
It's unique. All we can do, is try to be a little more tolerant of others, but yep, genetics and conditioning(if more so) play a part in our level of tolerance...
