RE: Thoughts For The Day

He goes everywhere I go. If he is not by my feet, he is not far away. He really bonded himself to me and it was immediate the first time he saw me, he just imprinted himself and that was it.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

He has aged very well, hey. He runs, jumps, plays, does everything a younger dog does.

RE: are you still looking to date others?

Lay on your hand till it falls asleep. Never tried it but yeah, they say its just like someone else

RE: are you still looking to date others?

I'm pretty settled in with my right hand. Sometimes the left if I want it to feel like someone else is doing it conversing

RE: does alcohol transform your feelings when drinking it?

Like a lot of drugs, yes. Alcohol can transform you from everything from the life of the party to a complete a**hole that gets hauled away by the cops. Alcohol is powerful and must always be used with a little caution.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

I like big dogs, I like their personalities. I have a smaller dog here though with a big dog personality, he is a cross between a Beagle and a German Sheppard. He was abandoned by his original owner last summer at 18 years old and he end up here. 19 years old this summer and plenty of life left in him yet.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

Cats and dogs always want your spot. Every night going to bed I have to move bodies, if I get up for a pee, I have to move bodies again. The big dogs are not so easy to move, especially Amadeus when he gets hard headed and don't want to move.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

Greybeard is looking at me like I betrayed her lol. I moved her out of my chair and she don't like that laugh

RE: Thoughts For The Day

Cats look after themselves really, just feed, water, and change their litter. You can leave a cat overnight, just have clean litter and lots of food and water down, they'll be fine. Dogs are high maintenance in comparison, you have to constantly attend to them. I'm fortunate I can just let them roam where it is so slow here but in any kind of urban place, you can't do that and you have to walk them constantly. If you have a dog like a husky, unless you got lots of open spaces to take them frequently, you are really going to have your hands full.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

Cats still surprise me to this day. I wouldn't have it any other way bouquet

RE: Thoughts For The Day

Right. lol. I expected it to be total chaos but it was like a big sleep over. Typically cats don't do good in groups but it was silky smooth.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

That whole time with all those cats was like one big fascinating experiment. What surprised me more than anything besides them following the rules of the road is how well they got along. There was no fighting, no fussing, it was harmony.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

My sister got even more cats than I have lol, its somewhere around 11 or 12 or something. A few years ago she stayed here for a couple of months and had her cats with her. We had over 20 cats in the house. When you wake in the morning and walk out to the kitchen, you were met with a sea of cats going everywhere all screaming for breakfast lol. Would you believe that cats can obey the rules of the road? I never would have thought it until I seen it for myself. The cats roamed the house in herds. When one herd met another, one herd would stop, let the other herd go, then they resume. The first time I seen it, I thought I had too much to smoke until I seen it again laugh

RE: Thoughts For The Day

My sister's cat don't like mornings lol

I shut off my brain as much as I can and I'm happier for it. This is what I like about coming here, you can shut off the rational part of yourself and just indulge in a little play time.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

That is more true than most will ever realize

RE: Thoughts For The Day

I have 6 cats (5 housecats and a feral in the shed thats nearly blind), and 4 dogs. They are all either rescues, shelter animals, or destined for the shelter. There are feral cats around the community but I can't put food out to them because of the dogs, the cats stay away from here. Funny thing though is there is a friendly fox that likes to hang out with the dogs from time to time. I guess I could feed the fox, fox's are not known for hurting dogs or cats.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

All we can do is enjoy our peace. Its heartbreaking what is happening in the world but we have to keep our peace as well because if you let it, you would drive yourself nuts thinking about everything.

Anyhow, for a happier topic. I got Spot and Stripey with me now, they are not happy about the rain today. When I first got Stripey (he was a rescue, lived on the streets for a few years), he would go out in any kind of weather because he was hardened into it but the last few years, he likes his comfort more and stays in when it rains or if its too cold. He still eats like something thats starving to death though even though its quite the opposite, when putting food down in the separate dishes, he will go to all dishes, stuff his face full, then guard his own dish laugh

RE: Thoughts For The Day

I was there one time. Lived it, breathed it. Nasty stuff, it ruins more lives than anything else I can think of.

When I was growing up, the only "hard" stuff was a bit of pot. Real hard drugs were inaccessible where I am at the time. I am forever grateful that it was that way. I did get into the hard stuff but a little later and when I got messed up, I had just enough brains left to make the connection between the drugs and what was happening to my life and give it up. Had I started when I was say 12 or 13, I think things would have turned out different. I see a generation of kids now so messed up they can barely pronounce their own names and they are still kids, just wait till 15 - 20 years time for those that survive that long.

Pippa, its a cruel world out there. Not the same world we grew up in. I just hope that generation z learns from this and don't take the same path.

RE: Thoughts For The Day

There are no winners with drug addiction. There is a major crisis here, fentanyl is coming here by the boat loads from China and its killing addicts like flies.

RE: What causes full awareness......?

Open mindedness is the best way to achieve awareness. That or a wild trip on the mushrooms.

RE: What's it like too be you?

Its generally fun these days when the mental illness is not acting up.

RE: Do you have breakfast?

I been eating a lot of oatmeal lately. Suppose to be good for lowering cholesterol
