I was about to give you thumb up but then read the last sentence again, seems like you are placing blame on Europe again/the west.
NATO and the west in general should be ashamed of supporting what Turkey did, we should be ashamed of letting ISIS what they have been doing, we should be ashamed of having an ally like Saudi - the country that does not give a damn about human life and human rights! The country that is even in charge of the UN human rights committee or commission????!!!!! Shame on our politicians and shame on us for not stopping these fools!
True. However, this concept of democracy has gone to its extreme, as it now seems that the freedom of religion is prioritized over the other freedoms.
But it is easy to claim indefinite freedoms to whoever, it is easy to blame ourselves for everything that has gone wrong. Pretend there isn't a problem, do not call spade a spade, give concessions or turn a blind eye and you come to the point where we are now.
I voted yes, however, I still think that if we had different leaders we could still be saved.
There are two main obstables to solving this problem in Europe:
1. the EU itself, made up of bureaucrats, who have lost contact with the reality. The politicians, both on national and the EU level, are weak, influenced by the capital, and the worst thing is that they do not care about their own citizens. These politicians created this monster supranational state, EU, which replaced the national states in many aspects without thinking about the main prerequisite of any state: protection of its borders.
2. apologists represent an equal, if not bigger, obstacle. They keep on looking for excuses for any actions taken by "a certain group" of people that undermine our values and pose a threat to our way of living. Apologists have this romantic idea that everything will work out the way it should, their motto is to give this "certain group" of people more and more and, even more than everyone else, wine and dine them all the time and voila a miracle will happen, this "certain group" will adopt our values and become one of us. Contrary to all the evidence, apologists think that by tolerating the intolerance of this "certain group" will end up in more tolerance by all sides. The fact is that it hasn't so far, and this tolerance is perceived as weakness and stupidity. It aactually encourages the demands for more priviledges, for more concessions to the way of life, customs that are alien to ours.
To resolve this horrible situation in Europe swift, decisive and radical actions need to be taken. But there is no one to take them, Europe is weak, especially the Western Europe. There have been people who have been warning of the consequences all the time, some have woken up recently, but many haven't. It is weird that many say: it is scary to see what is happening in the world, but on the other hand they claim we shouldn't feel fear. Just like feeling pain when ill or wounded, feeling fear is one of the survival instincts (e.g. in a battle a true hero is the one who feels fear but still acts) that can help. However, it seems we have lost oursm it even seems we have lost the desire to live.
The west should stop backing stupid islamists, Turkey included. I can't wait to see what Putin has up his sleeve for Turkey.
Read today that Erdogan's daughter has her own hospital, her daddy provides hwe with terrorists to treat....she is very busy, earning a lot. Cannot find the link now.
The problem is that Islam is more than the religion and the west is making a mistake by refusing to see that it is an ideology more than a religion. I am not sure if Paris was a wake-up call, unfortunately, many still look for excuses and relativize everything - yeah yeah Christianity is just as bad - it WAS, but the problem now is elsewhere.
The only ones that could bring change to Islam are the moderate Muslims themselves. But they do not seem to be willing. As for the mosques - it seems they are the problem and the centre of radicalisation. But no wonder, most mosques in Europe are financed by the Saudis.
So let's make thousands of the young men that came to Europe go back and fight instead of living comfortably on social benefits. Oh, we cannot rely on them? Who would have guessed
and was wondering why Greece didn't do anything about it. Thanks for explaining Chris.
It is completely understandable why Turks downed the Russian plane - they do not want the cheap oil source to be destroyed for them. I read that Erdogan's son has a company that buys the oil and makes huge benefits. If they were serious about fighting ISIS they wouldn't let them in and out of the country.
WOW you seem more and more like a fanatic Bab, twisting and turning what others say...ooops...only the ones that you do not agree with. Trying to be French too hard?
And for the record: last 2 weeks I spent in Garmisch, one of the participants in the course was a young French pilot. He clearly talked about the problems with French Muslim citizens and claimed that they do not have any loyalty to France!
I completely agree with Krema. What even your link says is that the Ottoman empire almost exterminated the original local population. I am sorry but the article is full of lies, at least when it comes to the territory of Bosnia, and don't forget that we once lived in the same state as Bosnians. We definitely know more of the history of this region, you trying to paint another picture is the same as if we tried to teach you the history of the Fillipines or France for that matter.
And even though these people do not want to stay in our countries (thank god) we have a lot of problems with them, in my country financial problems mostly at this moment - and when you guys close your borders, do you think they will peacefully return to their own countries? Yeah, right.
The one barking is you, I asked a simple question and you did not call people names like you did.
Good for you that you are getting 25.000 - how big is Canada? I am sure you can do better than that - more than 250,000 have been provided for shelter and food here in my country, a country of 2 mil only. And we did not invite them, so we will be more than glad if you take them.
Could you get your facts straght? The mainstream media are not showing the truth!
As for Azerbaijan: wasn't it there that the football fans booed and shouted Alahu Akhbar during the minute of silence for the victims of the attack in Paris? Just like in Turkey!
It is up to the moderate Muslims to get their religion back, no one else can do it and until then the terrorists among their own ranks will be slowly destroying the world. Or maybe you in Canada think you will be untouched? Feeding the corcodile hoping to be the last one it will eat
So we should accept thousands of foreigners but we should pack our bags and leave? Very compassionate Bab, thank you
No one is saying throw out own citizens and you know it, let's stop pretending. Funny that you did not comment on the Jews having to leave, on the other hand you did by telling me to pack.
It is horrible that they have to leave Europe, which has been their home for generations, because of the new type of anti semitism.
True, where can they go? Israel...well they are targeted there every day, too. The same will happen to us: where can we flee? Think an Icelander on CS was offering help
Thanks. These people are crazy, the whole thing is crazy and above all Merkel. Wonder what kicks she gets from hearing her name chanted by young healthy men???
I am sure they will be let pass in the end - we are all galactically stupid
They know what they are doing - crying because of the non-existant threats, playing the victim card, like they always do. I do not blame them, I blame the stupid apologetic West for encouraging them and supporting them in everything.
Garmisch was excellent Kaet, I love that area, beautiful mountains, good wine (not a beer fan) and good company. The weather was perfect too
Could see quite a few Africans wondering around, heard that there are several smaller "refugee" centres there, too
RE: Turkey to Russians.. Violate my air space, for 15 seconds, shoot your planes down.

It is shame
